This document provides details on the "LEGAL, PROFESSIONAL & BUSINESS ASPECTS OF OPTOMETRY" course taught in the 4th year of optometry studies. - To acquaint students with the concepts of the role of optometry in the
community so as to have a well developed sense of their ethical, professional
and legal responsibilities. Also to impart practice management awareness and
basic business skill to future optometric practioners.
11. Hasil Pembelajaran
Upon completion of this module the student will have acquired:
1. Knowledge of the law that governs the practice of optometry in Malaysia
2. Understanding of the other international laws of optometric practices
particularly in the British Commonwealth
3. Working knowledge of the rudiments of the business management aspects of
running a primary care optometric practice
4. Understanding of the future scope of the practice of optometry, taking into
considerations of the progress in the other countries where optometry is being
practiced to its full potential.

Optometry and Optics , starting an Optometric practice , modes of practice ,

It concludes with issues of continuing education and challenges in Optometry
& dealing with change , locally and globally.
