Mansa and her friends were being bullied by a group of older boys at their new school. The boys would push them, pull their hair, and physically hurt them. The girls felt helpless and afraid to tell anyone. Eventually, Mansa convinced the others they should tell their teacher. They explained what had been happening to their teacher, who took action. She involved the school counselor, who helped the boys understand how their actions affected others. The counselor signed all the students up for self defense classes to help boost the girls' confidence and teach the boys kindness. Over time, the boys apologized and became protective friends of the girls.
