The document criticizes modern American conservatism and Republican policies. It argues that Republicans misuse labels like "liberal" and "conservative" to demonize progressive ideology. While both parties serve special interests, liberalism better promotes social responsibility, equality, and progress. The document also lists common conservative rhetorical tactics like blaming the "liberal media" and claims they "represent the middle class." It aims to counter such strategies by educating people about the true meanings and histories of political terms.
This is a war that we must and shall win with better ideas and proven performance. The odds appear to be stacked against us, but that is just an illusion by the popular media, which now functions openly as the Progressive propaganda machine. Major television networks that used to pride themselves in getting the story behind the news and educating the American viewer about what their government was really doing now serve as perpetual spin doctors for the administration.

This document provides concluding thoughts and suggestions for action in response to learning about the nature of Islam from the book. It suggests that Christians should confront Islam to save Muslims and non-Muslims from it, as instructed in the Third Commandment. It acknowledges that while collectively people will continue to embrace lies and deny truth, leading to doom, salvation is still possible through faith in God. It describes the depraved nature of Allah and Muhammad depicted in Islam before concluding that for truly devout Muslims, there is no longer hope of salvation since they are corrupted beyond saving.
The document discusses several issues related to US trade policy and protectionism under the Trump administration. It notes that while protectionist policies like import substitution may increase domestic production and jobs in the short term, they also carry significant risks and difficulties, such as inflation, disruption of global supply chains, and technical challenges transitioning production. Imposing tariffs on US imports could increase consumer prices in the US by as much as 0.8% according to some estimates. The complexity of integrated global supply chains also makes trade wars a complicated matter that may not necessarily increase domestic employment as intended. Overall, the document outlines both sides of the debate around protectionism.

The document discusses the balance of power between the president and Congress in the United States. It notes that while the presidency seems powerful, the president's domestic authority is actually limited by Congress's control over funding and legislation. The ongoing government shutdown highlights this conflict between the branches. Historically, the U.S. system of separated powers has worked better than other presidential systems due to checks and balances, but recent polarization has exacerbated conflicts and gridlock.

This document summarizes the moral and practical failures of libertarianism and small government conservatism. It argues that both ideologies have led to unnecessary deaths by limiting regulations and social programs that help people. Both communism and libertarianism are criticized as extreme ideologies that fail when taken to their logical conclusions. While some government is necessary, conservatives and libertarians often oppose regulations and social programs in harmful ways based on ideological beliefs rather than evidence.

It analyzes the difficulties faced by the Joint Special Operations Task Force - Philippines, which had to balance counterterrorism missions with concerns over the regime's "war on drugs". Ultimately, the document argues that Task Forces take on increasing ethical dilemmas as they are forced to engage more with predatory states that do not respect basic freedoms.
Representations of the innocent and the guilt 2Rio Taylor
The document discusses representations of the innocent and guilty and how those in power create these representations. It uses Steven Avery's case as an example to illustrate how representations can change depending on who is in power. When A neighbor with connections to law enforcement claimed Avery seemed guilty, he was represented as such and convicted of a crime despite evidence showing his innocence. Years later, DNA evidence exonerated him and he was then represented as innocent. However, while he sued the county for his wrongful conviction, a new murder investigation resulted in Avery being represented as guilty again, suggesting the police worked to shift perceptions of guilt away from themselves and onto Avery. The document argues representations are socially constructed by powerful groups like the media, government

This document discusses hate groups and hate crimes. It begins by outlining objectives of showing how dehumanization can take effect and what happens when individuals are set up to fail. It then provides definitions of hate crimes and hate groups under Canadian law. Several examples of hate groups are described on both the left and right sides of the political spectrum. Common rhetoric and propaganda methods used by these groups are examined, including dehumanization, authoritarian leadership, and the promotion of destructive ideologies. Statistics on hate crimes in Canada and locally in Toronto are also presented.

The document summarizes the flaws with both conservative and liberal extremes when applied to systems of government. It argues that neither a minimal centralized government approach favored by conservatives nor a maximal socialist approach favored by some liberals have ever proven effective when implemented in real world governments. According to the author, this is because systems that deny the basic human drives of fear and greed cannot properly control or motivate society. The most effective solutions are those that do the most good for citizens rather than being most popular or ideological, and are fair and efficient rather than purely conservative or liberal. The conclusion is that some form of smart government is needed rather than one that is either too big or small.

The document discusses lessons learned from applying a new subdivision standard for jack-up rigs that requires a minimum range of stability after flooding of any single compartment. It was found that stability calculations could unexpectedly terminate before reaching the full range, known as "fading stability curves". This was resolved by returning to fundamental stability principles and developing a new approach using iso-energy contours to visualize the energy required to incline the vessel at different heel and trim combinations. Key findings were that fading stability does not indicate capsizing, and the traditional concept of range of stability is not applicable when such curves occur.
Wim de Boom of GustoMSC gave a presentation at the Offshore Wind Power Conference about promising offshore wind turbine installation techniques. GustoMSC designs offshore jack-up vessels and cranes for the installation of offshore wind turbines. Some key innovations discussed were double acting jacking systems for quicker installation, slender cranes with tall booms optimized for lifting wind turbines, and specialized handling tools. The presentation also covered trends toward installing larger turbines and in deeper waters.
The document discusses the history and importance of chocolate in society. It details how chocolate originated in Mexico and South America, was popularized in Europe after its discovery by the Spanish, and is now widely consumed globally on a daily basis both in its raw cocoa bean form and in products like chocolate bars. Chocolate has become deeply ingrained in many cultures and traditions over centuries.
This document summarizes model experiments conducted to investigate hydrodynamic nonlinearities in jack-up platforms. Two simplified jack-up platform models were tested in regular and irregular waves. Force, acceleration, and displacement data were collected. Preliminary results showed the influence of structural response on hydrodynamic loads was significant near the platform's resonant frequency. Nonlinear effects like quadratic drag were observed. Paired regular wave tests provided an initial check of superposition principles. Overall, the experiments aimed to better understand jack-up platform hydrodynamics to inform computer simulations and design criteria.
The document discusses the foundation engineering assessment for installing the world's largest jack-up rig offshore Norway. Based on site investigations, the soil conditions varied across the site and consisted of bedrock overlaid by soft silt/clay and a shallow sand layer. Conventional and finite element analyses proposed constructing sand banks to provide a stable foundation. Three-dimensional finite element modeling of the integrated jack-up structure, skirted spudcan foundations, and soil was used to determine the optimal sand bank geometry. The modeling showed structural forces would remain acceptable during installation, preloading, and storm conditions. The rig was successfully installed, validating the engineering predictions.
Shackles are used in lifting and static systems to connect components like wire rope, chain, and fittings. Screw pin shackles are used for non-permanent applications, while safety bolt shackles are used for permanent applications or where loads may slide and rotate the pin. Van Beest offers a wide range of shackles from 0.33 to 1500 tons working load limit in various designs, materials, finishes, and certifications. Shackles must be inspected regularly and used correctly to avoid damage or failure from misuse.

Liberals are pussies. Yes we all realize this. We
gave them a majority in the House, the Senate, and
even the Presidency. Only to be bullied out by a
bunch of nut job community college dropouts that
now control congress. Liberals are pussies, but at
least they’re not crazy or stupid… or worse, an
incredibly dangerous hybrid of crazy-stupid known
as the Tea Party. If you’re reading this you’re
probably a liberal, or possibly a self-loathing
conservative. Or maybe even Sean Hannity because
you heard your name was mentioned in this book... In
which case, Sean put the book down; you’re not
going to like it. If you are indeed a liberal, don’t
worry, you’re in good company. Enjoy the ranks of
such like-minded great men as Jesus Christ, Thomas
Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham
Lincoln, and Franklin Roosevelt. You might have
noticed that many of these guys are the same
“Founding Fathers” the Tea Party claims their ideals
2. embody. At best, the only things they have in
common are tri-corner hats.
I believe many people now confuse being selfish,
ignorant, and uncompassionate, with being
conservative. Many people that call themselves
“conservative” don’t even know the actual political
denotation of the word. So for their benefit I've
included the definition.
con·serv·a·tive
[kuhn-sur-vuh-tiv]
adjective
1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, or
to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.
Now, after reading that, who in their right mind,
would want to call himself or herself this? It's the
opposite of progress. In fact, this is the opposite of
the America Dream.
Just to further illustrate my point I’ve also included
the definition of liberal.
3. lib·er·al
[lib-er-uh l, lib-ruh l]
adjective
1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
2. favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum
individual freedom possible, especially as guaranteed by law
and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
3. favoring or permitting freedom of action, especially with
respect to matters of personal belief or expression.
So how did “liberal” become such a bad word? How
did we let Republicans demonize the obviously
superior political ideology? I’m guessing the fact
that most liberals are pussies had something to do
with it.
In fairness the modern Republican party, is basically
an anti-intellectual, self-serving version of the
modern Democratic. Both parties have a recent track
record of big government, gross spending, and
war. It's only a matter of what programs each party
favors, which lobbies they cater to, and which social /
economic strata are benefited that separates the two
parties’ initiatives.
Knowing that, I would think the average person
would rather err on the side that favors social
responsibility, intellectualism, truth, and equality. I
4. mean, that would make sense... unless you're an
asshole. In which case, you're probably a
conservative.
This must end, seriously. We can not allow another
generation to fall further into economic and social
decay at the hands of a bunch of conservative retards
(yes Sarah Palin, I said retards). We must unite and
strike back at the neo-conservative juggernaut that is
crippling mass media with atrocious moronic rants of
falsehood that people are actually beginning to
believe as facts. A balanced media bias is the stuff of
pipe dreams, but we must strive to educate the
masses about their despicable scheme.
I propose implementing a strategy of identifying and
ignoring crazy shit Republicans say. By ignoring the
bull shit of the right, we can take it out of legitimate
political discussion, and weaken its straggle-hold on
truth and progress. Be forewarned, Republicans are
quite masterful at manipulating facts and spinning
their righteously indignant lunacy.
They utilize several techniques in their evil ways. So
I’ve compiled a list of common devices used by the
Right Wing to shock and stupefy the masses. The
following conservative tactics should be memorized
and re-taught to fellow non-idiots, so that they can be
properly identified and ignored in future discourse.
5. Conservative Tactic # 1
“I know you are, but what am I?”
Conservatives desperately and continually create
false connections with liberals to words and policy
that are inherently part of the conservative agenda
and culture. Examples include constantly labeling
Democrats:
racist, ignorant, unpatriotic, corrupt, unethical, &
fascist
In truth all of the horrible things listed above
accurately apply to the definition of conservative that
was previously listed. All of these terms and their
respective meanings are aligned with the true
conservative and right-wing ideology, and have
absolutely nothing in common with liberal principles.
This clever ruse is a very damaging trick and is by far
the most common of all right-wing tactics.
Conservatives epitomize hypocrisy with their
extremes of unethical behavior. From gay sex
scandals to extra marital affairs nobody does exactly
6. what conservatives claim to condemn more than the
GOP. Right- wingers now accuse liberals of being
fascists. I guess they’re assuming everyone forgot
that fascism is a product of right-wing extremism,
and it is evident in the writings and speeches of many
conservative politicians and pundits. In fact the
actions of Bush and his cabinet make it the most
fascist administration in U.S. history.
Though liberals aren’t allowed to have a negative
view on the president, no matter how retarded (yep
Sarah, I did it again) because that would make us
unpatriotic. So no one is allowed to interrupt him
during interviews, shout “you lie” while he’s
addressing congress, or call him the anti-Christ to his
face… unless of course you’re a Republican.
7. Conservative Tactic # 2
“Blame the Liberal Media”
The term “Liberal Media” is a lie. They claim
everything that is not blatantly, if not shamelessly,
right-wing propaganda, to be the work of the
“Liberal Media.” No, their news is 100% fair and
balanced. Though, apparently offering the middle
of the road opinion or explaining both sides of an
issue is akin to communism. While there are
several organizations that only push the
conservative message, at the same time attacking
progressives, most owned by News Corp… All
we’ve got is MSNBC.
8. Conservative Tactic # 3
“We represent the middle class”
No you don’t. Republican candidates represent
“Crony Capitalism,” which is the main reason the
economy collapsed in 2008. The conservatives have
recently adopted the trickery of attacking liberals by
turning the phrase “Class Warfare” into something
the Democrats are using against all the hard working
simple Republican folk. This is actually exactly the
opposite of the phrase’s true meaning. Republican
spin doctors have been advocating lower taxes, and
what’s more, that it’s only fair that every American
“contribute” their own share. The facts are that by
year’s end 2010 the U.S. medium annual wage was
$26,364. Compare that with Mitt Romney, who
made over 42 million in the last two
years. His tax rate in 2010 was only 13.9%. That
sounds fair. And for all the Reaganites out there
arguing for lower taxes, taxes are lower now than
they were under Reagan. Our boy Mitt here would
have paid 20-28% during the Reagan terms.
Republicans began condemning Democrats for
“Class Warfare” after a push to restore the former
9. tax-rate of the 90’s (when the economy was at its
peak) from 35% to 39% which would only affect
those who earn over $380,000. Oh by the way, that
extra 4% from the richest Americans would protect
Social Security and Medicare for the next 60 years.
But the “Job Creators” didn’t seem to care about
programs that only benefited the middle class. Just
makes you wonder, what’s the 1% bitching about?
10. Conservative Tactic # 4
“Lie… a lot”
These guys love to just make shit up. Doesn’t matter
how far from reality the claim is, in fact the crazier
the better. Whether it’s about “Death Panels”,
Fascism, the scientific merit of “Intelligent Design,”
or Muslim schools in Kenya, rest assured, it’s all total
bullshit. To help you identify the most popular
conservative threads of lies the following information
is the actual truth:
! Only 2% of welfare recipients test positive for drug
use
! The president is an American citizen
! Iraq was not connected with 9/11
11. Conservative Tactic # 5
“God is on my side”
This claim is championed by brilliant leaders such as:
George Bush, Tom DeLay, and Rick Perry. It’s sad
that they on some level actually believe this. The
irony of this is Jesus was liberal, super liberal.
Legislation on universal healthcare, education,
equality, welfare, and abolishing the death penalty all
seem to be the kind of stuff Jesus liked. Oh, and he
definitely didn’t like greedy rich dudes…
I
believe he said something like:
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a
needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of
God.” MARK 10:25
Oh, snap. Sorry Romney, looks like you, and the
entire Senate, are screwed. And so I send you out
into the world armed with this knowledge to serve as
a crusader for truth and justice.
Good luck and God speed.
12. Who are you calling Liberal?
You can call Obama a lot of things. But he is not the
liberal menace Fox News would have you believe.
The Obama administration has deported over one
million illegal aliens since he has taken office. He
will have deported more illegal aliens in four years
than the Bush administration did in eight. His
administration has issued tens times more in fines to
employers who hire undocumented workers. The
military has grown every year under the current
administration. Our Navy now is larger than the next
13 largest naval fleets combined. And Obama just
ordered a bunch more ships. Taking into
consideration that this president inherited the worst
economic recession since the Great Depression, he
has only spent around 1.5 trillion compared to the
Bush administration’s 5 trillion, most of which was
spent on an unnecessary war in Iraq that has been
proven to have absolutely nothing to do with the
terror attacks on September 11th, 2001. Not to
mention, the Iraq war has killed nearly 4,500 of our
troops and seriously impaired for life countless
others.
13. To be fair, Obama has killed some people too,
namely terrorists. He ordered the attack on Osama
Bin Laden’s compound. In September 2011, Anwar
al-Awlaki, the al Qaeda leader of the Arabian
Peninsula was killed. In January 2012 Obama sent
Seal Team Six into Somalia to rescue hostages from
pirates who worked with local war lords. And just
for good measure, he had the Seals kill the pirates
too; after all, we could always use fewer pirates.

stupid people are conservative."
