CRAFT CENTER I Indraprastha, New Delhi
A corner plot of 30000 sqm situated in Delhi, Indraprastha. An escape from the
urban rush for the people, a space for craftsmen from different parts of India is
planned with a vernacular approach of a lost construction technique wattle and
daub. An interacting freestanding climbers screen wall is made as the design usp,
which acts as a natural fence with increasing privacy cohesion.

CLUSTER PLANNING
Dhokra, Madhubani and Bamboo Craft
were each given their own central
court, with a common entry court
shared between them. This was placed
between the public spaces of the
museum and auditorium, and the
private spaces of the dormitory and
studio apartments. The rear ends were
left for the utility service zone.

(2 WEEK TIME PROBLEM)

Pilot Residence I (East of Kailash, Delhi)
A sandwiched Plot in East of kailash with a restriction in height of 15M (excluding the
stilts) , A residence apartment is designed for 3 brothers and their families, with an
interlocking concept in order to make duplex units with such height restriction . The
sides of the plot is not provided with the openings due to buildings on the either side .
Spatial arrangement and configuration is explored in the design.

Vernacular Cade I Dhanyakuria , Kolkata
The cafe was built with the traditional materials of Kolkata - hay thatch roof with
bamboo framing (roof) and brick wall construction. A foldable bamboo window was
made in a traditional style and the pergola was made out of bamboo as well, with
much smaller units to give a buffer effect of flowing roof from the front.

TINY SLICE
Tiny slice I Competition (top 10 shortlisted entries)
One of the most recent trends in architecture is the modular house, which can be
found in forests or other isolated areas across the globe. The Tiny Slice is a
competition-based design of a short-duration 32 sqm house. The flexible module of
the tiny house is designed by combining many smaller strategies. A modified trombe
wall is used to passively heat the space, which was inspired by a house module in
North Carolina. The planning of the module is done in square grids to use the
maximum amount of space possible. The lower and upper parts of the wet areas are
used for harvesting water that melts from the heater at the centre (i.e. above the
kitchen, sauna, and pantry). The sloped roofs not only provide a volume for snow
collection but also slice up the blocky module.

It has been painted black and filled with a plant-based
oil mixture. The mixture is a phase change material
(PCM) that becomes liquefied when it warms and
slowly releases the heat through the cooler evening
and night as it returns to a waxy solid material.

plates , these rectangle can swivel so that it can
absorb more or less heat. This action can also
adjust the amount of light that enters the room.

  • 3. SHILPA KALA KENDRA ( 4th sem project )_INDIVIDUAL CRAFT CENTER I Indraprastha, New Delhi A corner plot of 30000 sqm situated in Delhi, Indraprastha. An escape from the urban rush for the people, a space for craftsmen from different parts of India is planned with a vernacular approach of a lost construction technique wattle and daub. An interacting freestanding climbers screen wall is made as the design usp, which acts as a natural fence with increasing privacy cohesion. A Cultural Oasis In The Middle Of The City

This was placed between the public spaces of the museum and auditorium, and the private spaces of the dormitory and studio apartments. The rear ends were left for the utility service zone.

FAMILY APARTMENT (2 WEEK TIME PROBLEM) Individual Pilot Residence I (East of Kailash, Delhi) A sandwiched Plot in East of kailash with a restriction in height of 15M (excluding the stilts) , A residence apartment is designed for 3 brothers and their families, with an interlocking concept in order to make duplex units with such height restriction . The sides of the plot is not provided with the openings due to buildings on the either side . Spatial arrangement and configuration is explored in the design. Look It’s the sandwiched Duplexes!

THE CURVY HIGH RISE 6th sem_Group of 2 Mixed Use Building I Gurgaon, Haryana The curvy profile of the building gives way to more shops, and the curvature itself is taken to be a part of the design. The form is further developed in layers of curves to express the iconic nature of the mixed-use building. Oops! The curves gone wrong !

VERNACULAR CAFE 2 WEEK TIME PROBLEM 4th Sem_Individual Vernacular Cade I Dhanyakuria , Kolkata The cafe was built with the traditional materials of Kolkata - hay thatch roof with bamboo framing (roof) and brick wall construction. A foldable bamboo window was made in a traditional style and the pergola was made out of bamboo as well, with much smaller units to give a buffer effect of flowing roof from the front. Sustainability !

TINY SLICE Tiny slice I Competition (top 10 shortlisted entries) One of the most recent trends in architecture is the modular house, which can be found in forests or other isolated areas across the globe. The Tiny Slice is a competition-based design of a short-duration 32 sqm house. The flexible module of the tiny house is designed by combining many smaller strategies. A modified trombe wall is used to passively heat the space, which was inspired by a house module in North Carolina. The planning of the module is done in square grids to use the maximum amount of space possible. The lower and upper parts of the wet areas are used for harvesting water that melts from the heater at the centre (i.e. above the kitchen, sauna, and pantry). The sloped roofs not only provide a volume for snow collection but also slice up the blocky module. Minima scalpere !
