Jesus commands his disciples to go forth and make disciples of all nations by baptizing them and teaching them to obey Jesus' commands. They are to proclaim the good news to the whole world and those who believe and are baptized will be saved. Jesus promises the disciples that they will receive power from the Holy Spirit and will be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Jesus also teaches that those who care for the hungry, thirsty, strangers, naked, sick, and imprisoned will inherit the kingdom of God.

Jesus loved the lost. As a matter of fact, He came to seek them specifically! And as He left earth, He commanded all His disciples to do the same. This is why we seek the lost!

LDS Sunday School Lesson 13: “I Will Give unto Thee the Keys of the Kingdom” covering:
a. Matthew 15:21–39. Jesus heals the daughter of a Gentile woman and miraculously feeds more than 4,000 people, many of them Gentiles.
b. Matthew 16:13–19. Peter testifies that Jesus is the Christ. Jesus teaches that his Church is built upon the rock of revelation and promises to give Peter the keys of the kingdom.
c. Matthew 17:1–9. Jesus is transfigured before Peter, James, and John.
Two week series "Greatest Day/Greatest Event". The greatest day will be the day Jesus returns for us! Because on that day we will see the great resurrection of the dead, our inheritance will be gained, the bride of Christ will be revealed and all of the saved will be invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb!
When King Belshazzar decided to throw a drunken party and use the vessels of the temple, God had a message for him. His days were numbered; He had been judged and found guilty; All he owned would be divided. Is this a message for us?
In the last message in this series (but not the last all together) we tackle the issue of anger. Watch this space for the next installment in the FOLLOW Series.
Inspired by the excellent Nicky Gumbel teaching on this passage I teach on how anger can be deathly to people & offer some insights on how to handle anger.
We cover off Matthew 5:21-26 in this message.
In response to the striving of nations and the evil of human hearts, God crowns His Son, Jesus Christ, as the world's true King.
The message was given on Dec 15, 2013 at New City Church in Calgary by Pastor John Ferguson. For more info, go to www.NewCityChurch.ca.
2 Women in Leadership - New Creation Framework Part 2 by Tim CatchimTim Catchim
Presentation 2 of a Women in Leadership Training Workshop showing how God's vision for a new creation shapes the way we approach and interpret the Scriptures.
We all long for peace, especially in times of turmoil. When our life is under pressure or upset in someway, we often do whatever we can in our own strength to gain control. In Acts 6:8-15 we see the early church member, Stephen, standing still in the face of death. From this passage, I strive to show how we too can be confident in God's sovereignty no matter the circumstances. To See the sermon visit: http://wp.me/p4N0ve-rY

Have you ever been subpoenaed to testify in a court of law? If so, describe the circumstances, what happened and how you felt? What prevents us from being effective witnesses? Do we, like the disciples, have concerns or perspectives or priorities that restrict us or distract us from effectively fulfilling our roles as witnesses?

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

1. Scripture (NRSV)
The Great Commission - Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and said to them,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go
therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them
to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am
with you always, to the end of the age.”
Mark 16:15-16
And He said to them,
‘Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole
creation. The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but
the one who does not believe will be condemned.
Acts 1:7-8
He replied,
‘It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has
set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy
Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in
Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’
Matthew 25:34-40
Then the king will say to those at his right hand,
“Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom
prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry
and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to
drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you
gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison
and you visited me.” Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when
was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave
you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger
and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it
that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will
answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of
these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
