Max meets up with Sandy at a restaurant for a date. They discover they have very different interests - Max enjoys baking and romance movies while Sandy prefers death metal and horror. Sandy also claims to be allergic to cake. When Max pulls out a cake he made, Sandy smashes it in his face. Realizing they are incompatible, Max quickly leaves the restaurant, ending the disastrous first date.

1. FADE IN:
INT. STAIRWELL AND CORIDOOR – DAY
THE STAIRS UP TO A RESTAURANT
MAX, early twenties, casual dress
MAX walks up the stairs and through the door
INT. RESTAURANT – DAY
MAX enters and walks over to table before sitting down opposite
SANDY
MAX
I’m really glad you could come out tonight
SANDY
Twirling her hair
Yeah… thanks for inviting me. You’ll pay, right?
MAX
Chuckles
SANDY
So what are you interests?
MAX
Good bit of baking and a couple of romance movies
SANDY
I see
MAX
You?
SANDY
I’m more of a death metal, horror movies kind of girl
MAX
Oh?
SANDY
I’m allergic to cakes so I’m afraid I won’t be trying any of your
bakes
MAX
Well, I guess this will go to waste then
He pulls out a cake from under the table

2. SANDY
Oh, yes
MAX
But I went to all this effort and…
SANDY
Standing up and smashing cake across Max’s face
It’s not exactly my fault
MAX
I don’t think this is going to work out, if you’re allergic to cakes
what are we are going to cut at our wedding
SANDY
Screams
MAX
Backs away slowly and out the door
