CECELIA thenpullsANNIE’Sarm,andgrabs her throatand resumesstranglingANNIEuntil she is
silent.She gentlyputsANNIEonthe floorandthenturns to FATHER HOPE again.
FATHER HOPE turnsaway and runsquicklyawayfromCECELIA.She followshimtothe door. She is
thendistractedby a bird cawing.
CECELIA thenturns,and walksawayina peaceful mannerandleavesthe churchyard.
