IPv4 addresses are running out due to continued growth of the Internet. This document discusses the need to transition to IPv6 to avoid issues caused by IPv4 address depletion and workarounds like Carrier Grade NAT. IPv6 deployment is underway globally with increasing IPv6 address allocations and prefixes, DNS support, and websites enabling IPv6. The conclusions are that IPv6 transition is inevitable as IPv4 limitations intensify, and organizations should plan their IPv6 migration to preserve business continuity and access the full capabilities of the Internet.
