DISTRICT SEARCH FOR BEST IMPLEMENTING SCHOOLS OF READING
INSTRUCTION AND INTERVENTION
To: Elementary and Secondary School Heads
School Reading Coordinators
1. In conformance with Division Memorandum No. 23, s. 2022, there will be a District
Search for Best Implementing Schools of Reading Instruction and Intervention
tomorrow, July 6, 2022.
2. The contest categories are as follows:
Category A Elementary Level (Grades 1-6)
Category B Junior High School (Grades 7-10)
B.1 Small School Category
B.2 Medium School Category
B.3 Large School Category
B.4 Mega School Category
3. The following are the school nominees to be evaluated for Category A:
a.Yeban Sur ES
b. Maluno IS- Main
c. Sta. Cruz ES
4. Only the Champion in Category A shall advance to the Legislative District Level
on July 11, 2022.
5. The following school nominees for Category B are automatic entries of the
district for the Legislative District Level:
Medium School Category - Yeban IS/Maluno IS (whichever will
be the recommendee of the Validating Team incharge of the Secondary)
Large School Category - Benito Soliven National High School

CONTEST GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS FOR THE DISTRICT SEARCH
FOR BEST IMPLEMENTING SCHOOLS OF READING
INSTRUCTION AND INTERVENTIONS
A. Contest Mechanics
1. The Search will be participated in by the school nominees recommended by the
Validating Teams during the validation of Phil-IRI Post Test Results.
2. The nominees should not have records of dropouts for the current school year.
This will be validated and certified by the District LIS Coordinator.
3. The nominees should not have any non-readers at the end of the current school
year. The School Reading Committee chaired by the School Head shall certify
that the nominee does not have any non-readers.
4. The contest categories are:
Category A Element Level (Grade 1-6)
Category B Junior High School (Grade 7-10)
B.1. Small School Category
B.2 Medium School Category
B.3 Large School Category
B.4. Mega School Category
5. The nominee should submit a nomination write-up following the enclosed
template.
6. Only the Champion in each category shall advance to the Legislative District
Level.
7. Top three winners in each category will be awarded Certificates of Recognition.
8. The following special awards shall also be given:
8.1. Most Innovative Project in Reading
8.2. Most Functional Reading Center/ Hub
8.3. Most Functional Reading Park
9. The decision of the Board of Judges in all aspects of the contest shall be deemed
final and irrevocable.
B. Criteria for Judging
1. Percentage of learners who read at instructional level at the end of the
school year – 20%
2. Percentage of learners who read at independent level at the end of the
school year – 30%
3. Innovations in Reading - 25%
4. Capability Building for Teachers- 10%
5. Support from stakeholders in terms of volunteer work or financial/ material
resources - 10%
6. Quality of research undertaken while - 5%

In conformance with Division Memorandum No. 23, s. 2022, there will be a District Search for Best Implementing Schools of Reading Instruction and Intervention tomorrow, July 6, 2022. 2. The contest categories are as follows: Category A Elementary Level (Grades 1-6) Category B Junior High School (Grades 7-10) B.1 Small School Category B.2 Medium School Category B.3 Large School Category B.4 Mega School Category 3. The following are the school nominees to be evaluated for Category A: a.Yeban Sur ES b. Maluno IS- Main c. Sta. Cruz ES 4. Only the Champion in Category A shall advance to the Legislative District Level on July 11, 2022. 5. The following school nominees for Category B are automatic entries of the district for the Legislative District Level:

  • 3. Enclosure No.1 to District Memorandum No. 20, s. 2022 CONTEST GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS FOR THE DISTRICT SEARCH FOR BEST IMPLEMENTING SCHOOLS OF READING INSTRUCTION AND INTERVENTIONS A. Contest Mechanics 1. The Search will be participated in by the school nominees recommended by the Validating Teams during the validation of Phil-IRI Post Test Results. 2. The nominees should not have records of dropouts for the current school year. This will be validated and certified by the District LIS Coordinator. 3. The nominees should not have any non-readers at the end of the current school year. The School Reading Committee chaired by the School Head shall certify that the nominee does not have any non-readers. 4. The contest categories are: Category A Element Level (Grade 1-6) Category B Junior High School (Grade 7-10) B.1. Small School Category B.2 Medium School Category B.3 Large School Category B.4. Mega School Category 5. The nominee should submit a nomination write-up following the enclosed template. 6. Only the Champion in each category shall advance to the Legislative District Level. 7. Top three winners in each category will be awarded Certificates of Recognition. 8. The following special awards shall also be given: 8.1. Most Innovative Project in Reading 8.2. Most Functional Reading Center/ Hub 8.3. Most Functional Reading Park 9. The decision of the Board of Judges in all aspects of the contest shall be deemed final and irrevocable. B. Criteria for Judging 1. Percentage of learners who read at instructional level at the end of the school year – 20% 2. Percentage of learners who read at independent level at the end of the school year – 30% 3. Innovations in Reading - 25% 4. Capability Building for Teachers- 10%
