mandate, Mactan Senior High School
has created this policy to provide a
child-friendly set-up, conducive to
learning and a safe learning
environment for the children to grow,
develop and enjoy a happy and
meaningful life ahead
INTRODUCTION
This manual is designed as a source of
information and a part of our
continuous effort to nurture a child-
friendly environment. Lastly, this
handbook describes our partnership in
terms of what the parents can expect of
our school and what our school can
expect from the parents and students.

STUDENTS’ DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Learners of Mactan Senior High School shall have the following
duties and responsibilities:
A. Comply with the school’s rules and regulations as specified in
the school manual.
B. Conducts themselves in accordance with their levels of
development, maturity, and demonstrated capabilities, with
proper regard for the rights and welfare of other persons;
C. Respect another person’s rights regardless of opinion, status,
gender, ethnicity, religion, as well as everyone’s moral and physical
integrity; and
D. Observe the Code of Conduct for learners.
PARENTS’ DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
All parents shall have the following duties and obligations:
1. Parents, individually or collectively, through the school
systems, shall help carry out the educational objectives in
accordance with Mactan Senior High School goals.
2. Parents shall cooperate with the school in the
implementation of the school program curricular and co-
curricular.
3. Parents shall represent their learners during school
conferences.

SCHOOL UNIFORM
WHY DO YOU NEED TO WEAR YOUR SCHOOL UNIFORM?
1. Helps to quickly identify students- This makes it easy to find young
students who’ve wandered off, as well as identify intruders in the school.
2. Helps to minimize bullying- Uniforms minimize the chances of bullying
based on socioeconomic status. Students who can’t afford the latest
fashion trends would not have to struggle to fit in.
3. Instills a sense of pride among students- This high sense of school
spirit and pride will inspire morality among students. It boosts the
morale of the students and promotes unity.
4. The focus shifts to learning- When the students are in the same
uniform, they will be able to focus on their studies instead of wandering
around.
5. School uniforms save on costs- A uniform saves parents from having to
keep up with the latest trends.
6. Makes the morning easier- Uniforms save students from the stress of
choosing through the wardrobe every morning for something to wear to
school
WOMEN
1. Strictly follow the prescribed school uniform
2. Hair is to be tied back with a hairnet
3. Fringes and bangs are to be above the eyebrow or clipped
back
4. Haircolor is to be kept natural
5. No excessive styles allowed
6. Stockings are recommended

• The prescribed haircut is a barber's cut with a clean side

earrings for the girls, outlandish hairstyles, painting of tattoos,
over accessories with obscene and sexual representation, and
body piercing.
e.)Not observing proper grooming including haircut, hairdo,
hair color, and clipping of nails
MINOR OFFENSE
f.)Using profane language to insult others may it be verbal or
online.
g.)Littering (plastic cups, bottles, candy wrappers, or any
waste) inside the school campus, especially inside the
classroom and corridors
h.)Loitering and staying inside or outside the school during
class hour
i.)Using different gadgets like cellular phones, i-pad, PSP, and
other electronic gadgets during the class hour (unless
instructed/permitted by the teacher)

e) Vandalism, writing on or destroying school property
like chairs, tables, windows, books, laboratory equipment,
and others

f.) Gambling of any sort
g.) Drinking intoxicants and liquor inside school premises
h.) Carrying and concealing deadly weapons (sharp or
pointed objects which will be used for school-related
activities are allowed only if permitted by the teacher or
the administration)
i.) Extortion or coercively asking money from others
j.) Fighting causing injury to others
MAJOR OFFENSE
k.) Using, possessing, and selling prohibited drugs
including cigarettes and alcohol
l.) Hazingin any form or manner whether inside or outside
the school premises
m.) Engaging and recruitment of any fraternity and gang.
n.) Immorality or sexual harassment
o.) Instigating, leading, and participating in concerted
activities leading to stoppage of classes
MAJOR OFFENSE
p.) Preventing, threatening students or faculty members
or school authorities from discharging their duties or from
attending classes or entering school premises
q.) Forging or tampering with school records or transfer
forms, signatures of teachers, and other school personnel
r.) Extreme bullying including physical, emotional, mental,
and cyber-bullying
MAJOR OFFENSE
s.) Patronizing and/or engaging in suspected prostitution
dens, gambling, and pornographic places
t.) Wearing of school uniform while drinking liquor or
intoxicants
u.) Posting indecent and immoral content online such as
but not limited to revealing pictures and videos.
v.) Public display of affection (PDA) like kissing, necking,
petting, fondling or sexual act and the like.
MAJOR OFFENSE
w.) Disrespectful to the national flag and singing of the
national anthem
x.) Bringing, using, and selling pornographic materials
may be online or printed.
SANCTIONS

Commission of MINOR OFFENSES will be
sanctioned as follows:
1st Offense – verbal warning and indicate in the anecdotal
record
2nd Offense – Written warning to be given by the teacher
concerned and a letter informing the parents
3rd Offense –Written Warning to be given by the Prefect of
Discipline and Conference with parents
(Note: If the offense is done more than 3 times, it is considered a moderate
offense)
COMMISSION OF MODERATE OFFENSES WILL BE
SANCTIONED ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1st Offense – Conference with parents and the Prefect of
Discipline, Community service for 4 hours
2nd Offense – Conference with parents and the Prefect of
Discipline, Community service for 8 hours within the school
premises. The community service to be rendered shall be
agreed upon by the Prefect of discipline and the Parents.
COMMISSION OF MODERATE OFFENSES ARE AS
FOLLOWS:
3rd Offense – Conference with parents and the Prefect of
Discipline, Community service for 12 hours, Refer to Guidance
Office for Peer Coaching and Counseling.
Note: Repeated violation may result in disciplinary action agreed upon by
both parties (the school, parents, and student.)
