Dear ETSU Admissions office,
I have applied for the Faculty Academic Performance scholarship I have meet
both the GPA, and the ACT material for this scholarship. I believe I am worthy of this
scholarship because I have a drive to be involved with my grades, pushing me to work
toward keeping this scholarship every year I attend ETSU. I am also very involved
within the community of which I live, I believe I can benefit not only ETSU but also the
community in which it lies.
Since the time I entered the doors of Sullivan central High school four years ago. I
have been driven by my family, my friends, and my own personal will to be the best
student I can possibly be. I have challenged myself by taking more enduring courses such
as Honors English, Physics, psychology, Honors chemistry, and three dual enrollment
courses that required a great amount of time and motivation, and patience to complete
with an excelling grade. I strive to constantly receive the best grades I am capable of at
all times. I believe it is my job as a student to keep my grades at at utter excellence at all
times, and to continuously push myself to complete all tasks to the best of my ability. I
continuously work to improve my learning ethics, my study habits, and my learning
abilities to be the best student I can possibly be.
As a freshman in high school I became interested in giving back to my
community. I believe that a community is represented by the people within it, and being
involved within it is the best way to give back. I began volunteering at The Bridge Home
animal shelter, and the Second Harvest Food Bank in my community. I feel as if I can
also benefit and work for the betterment of the Johnson City community as well. I enjoy
being involved in communities because it gives me a sense of appreciation for what we
are given in life. Also I believe volunteering to be a action of care for the betterment of
who you are as a human; I have learned lessons that will carry through the course of my
life such as how to appreciate the simple things in life. I believe volunteering as changed
my ethics as a student to appreciate the chance of a higher education.
2. I feel like I will be a valuable addition to ETSU, because of my love and interests
for a higher level of education. The faculty scholarship would be a very helpful, and
meaningful accomplishment for my life. I will use it and maintain my grades because I
value the education I receive and constantly try to grow my knowledge. Receiving the
faculty scholarship would be such an honor to not only myself, but my family, and my
community. I plan on using my years of higher level education to potentially become a
Neonatal nurse, the faculty scholarship would greatly help me with the ambitions I have
to further my education and make something extraordinary of my life.
Sincerely yours,
Abby Hunt
