Destiny Martin is a 14-year-old 8th grader who wants to attend the Middle College at Bennett to be the first woman in her family to graduate college. She is interested in taking college courses for credits and having a mentor to help her pass all of her classes. Destiny wants to develop leadership skills to achieve her career goal of becoming an OBGYN. She believes the Middle College would be a good fit as it offers a supportive environment with mature female role models. Regular schools do not let her meet her full potential, while the Middle College program would through its smaller class sizes and opportunities.

1. Hi I’m Destiny Martin , 14 Years Old ,8th
grader attending Jackson Middle School. My interest in the
Middle College At Bennett is to become a Belle and to graduate so that I can attend Bennett College.
The reason why I would like to attend The Middle College At Bennett is because I would be the first
women in my family to go and graduates college. I would like to be taking college courses so that I can
be able to receive college credits. I would like to have a mentor through out my high school year
because in middle school I wasn’t understanding all of my classes. I am willing to have a mentor so
that I will be passing all of my classes. I am interested in developing my leadership skills because
it will help with my future career goals I would like to become an OBGYN. I would like to be
involved in a college choir or theater or arts program while attending The Middle College At
Bennett. I am also interested in the 5 year option that will allow me to get my 1st year of
college. I think that The Middle College At Bennett would be perfect for me, because it’s an all
girl school with mature female roll models. I would rather be around mature female roll models
because I think that we would come together and accomplish something very successful.
Sometimes I feel like traditional schools doesn’t work for me and doesn’t let me meet my
potential , because the only class rooms I am put in are big . I think that I am going to attend
The Middle College At Bennett because I am loyal and I am a very hard worker and I want to be
very successful in life. My goals in life is to be very successful so that I can fulfil my goals. I
would love to be in a middle college because regular traditional schools doesn’t work for me.
For me The Middle College At Bennett it is really important to me that I get a chance to call
myself a Belle. I know that I am mature enough to get along with mature role models and I
know that I can will be Respectful, and Respected. I know that I am mature enough to be on a
college campus with college students and other students in the Middle College.
