Ronald and Sven attended SAP TechEd conferences in Las Vegas and Barcelona to learn about SAP BI and HANA developments. They summarized key takeaways, including that a data warehouse is still necessary for data consolidation and governance. SAP offers SQL and HANA options for the data warehouse, and BW can run on HANA. Updates were provided on HANA modeling approaches, tools, analytics, BW/HANA convergence, predictive analytics, and the new HANA 2.0 release focusing on simplified management, transformed applications, and streamlined development.
