As discussed in previous THT talks, content-focused language teaching approaches such as Content-Based Instruction (CBI) and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) continue to gain both recognition and credibility. At the same time, we hear of the struggles that teachers have with implementation. In this workshop-style presentation, the presenter shares some
of the challenges he has faced with balancing the content and language sides of CLIL, as well as some of the strategies he and his colleagues have developed to deal with these challenges.
Participants will be asked to share their stories and concerns regarding content-focused language instruction.

In view of the above, the study based upon the definition and classification of O’Malley & Chamot and Oxford, discusses the condition of junior students’ listening strategies use and the impact on listening understanding. Through this research, we can see that the students with better listening score are better at self-supervising, training and listening techniques. I suggest that teachers should encourage and train the students to use the listening strategies to improve their ability. Effects of Reading Instruction Based on Cognitive Academic Language Learning ...
1) The document summarizes a study that examined the effects of a reading instruction method called the Cognitive Academic Language Learning Approach (CALLA) on Thai students' public administration English reading abilities and strategy use.

- 4. The Music model of Motivation eMpowerment Usefulness Success Interest Caring This model was designed by Dr. Brett D. Jones in 2009 from Virginia Tech . It can be used in any subject area. The name of the model, MUSIC, is an acronym based on the second letter of “eMpowerment” and the first letter of the other four components.
- 5. Uses of the Music model 1. To design instructions that motivate students. 2. To diagnose strengths and weaknesses of instruction. 3. To Research factors associated with motivating others
- 6. How can teachers motivate their students Students attend classes on time, eager to be involved in the activities prepared for them, focused, curious about new activities,, studious, etc.
