March, Aarohan cele-
brated International Women’s
day in Malviya Nagar B- block
park..350 participants took part
in the celebration which in-
cludes 250 community mem-
bers and 100 invitees from
renowned field. The objective
behind celebrating women’s
day has been to hail women and
their critical role in family and
society at large- showcasing
potentials and talents of the
underprivileged women from
the area where Aarohan is
working towards their uplift
The program started with wel-
coming guests- community
women; representative from
UWD, Saket City Hospital,
MMTC School, the Hyatt team
and Aarohan’s Board Members;
followed by an introductory
brief around Aarohan , its work,
and values. A poem “Aurat ka
samman karo” written by Ms.
Anjana Tata (Secretary, Aa-
rohan) was thereafter recited.
Beneficiaries under Aarohan’s
Umang project impressed audi-
ences as well guest by their
fashion parade and dance.
Dresses made by them mesmer-
ized audiences.
Aarohan took opportunity to
honor sensible mother of their
children.Noorjahan,won the
excellent Mother award be-
cause of her children punctual-
ity and regularity towards edu-
cation .She herself made sure

2. Model of microwave made by Danish,
student of 9th
class amazed visitors as
well as judge. He got the first prize. The
judge of the exhibition was Mr. Manish,
an engineer by Profession.
Aarohan organized science exhibition
on27th february2016 on the occasion
of National science Day (falls on 28th
Feb) with a motto to provide practical
learning of science to children. Chil-
dren participated in the exhibition with
full enthusiasm .Under the guidance of
their teacher Ms.kusum, they made
model of water cycle, water conserva-
tion, solar system, model of heart etc.
As part of comprehensive education
for holistic development of children
and women, Aarohan organizes Health
Awareness Camp from time to time.
One such Camp was organized on 15
Feb 2016 in association with Saket
city Hospital. Routine check-up of 163
participants which include Aasha chil-
dren (Aasha project catering to drop-
out children or never- been- to-
school), 6-
8 class students and benefi-
ciaries under Umang was done. Free
medicine was provided to them.

Aarohan chilldren participated in mara-
thon organized by IIFT On 10th January
alongwith their teacher Mr.Arjun.

for their 4 weeks Ngo internship .In dura-
tion of their internship they got oppor-
tunity to attend sessions of different de-
velopment personnel like Ms.Rani Pa-
tel ,Ms.Geetha Balasubramaniam ,Mr.
.Kedar Gousain etc. They got opportunity
to visit and work in slums namely Jag-
damba Camp, valmiki camp, Indra camp,
Begumpur. Aarohan organized sensitization
program For IIFTian with a motto to make
them understand issues faced by
Transgender in society in its Mangolpuri
Unit. In their internship journey interns
worked in team for different projects like
MMTC model of education, pedagogy mod-
el of education, Formation of SHG etc.

play name “Drugs choro” for the em-
ployees of continental tech in Sonipat
on 12th
February 2016.
The group of 18 children with a hope
that this small initiative will help the
audience took a small step to sensitize
the people about bad effects of drugs.
Cycle For parity
On 5th
march 2016, 100 participants which in-
clude men as well as women cycled together for
gender parity from Malviya Nagar Police station
to Qutub Minar.The vision of this theme was to
create an environment where women can contrib-
ute to social, economic, cultural and political
achievement .

In order to protect children against the cold win-
ters and spread the message of ‘Warm Hugs’,
Godrej Ezee embarked on ‘Rahaat - Ek Ab-
hiyaan' through a woolen wear collection drive
in Delhi. With Aarohan, as their sole partner, they
began distributing 70000 woolen clothes to un-
derprivileged children in various parts of North
India.
DELOITTE
Deloitte has continued to show its constant
support with volunteers by taking workshops on
innovative way to learn mathematics and Eng-
lish speaking every second Saturday of the
month. With a personalized approach, the chil-
dren are gaining a lot of confidence and are
feeling a spark of empowerment. our skill devel-
opment initiatives.
KELLOGG’S
As Bruce Barton rightly said, “When you have
something for breakfast, you're not going to be
starving by lunch.” Kellogg’s has started an
initiative partnering with Aarohan to provide
healthy breakfast to children in the Aarohan
family. In association of 4 month, Children
became more active and energetic in classes. We
noticed remarkable increase in their learning
power .

New Year 2016
Contributing consistently in educating
underprivileged children and empower-
ing women since 2004, Aarohan hearti-
ly celebrated the arrival of the new year
by ensuring big, bright smiles on many
little faces and passionately engaging,
as it always had, in its constant explora-
tion of newer and more innovative
methods of learning that would en-
sure the holistic development of all
the lives into which it attempts to
bring light and happiness.
The very first day of January was
spent in the New Year celebrations
with the kids at Mahila Park, Malviya
Nagar. Enjoyment and happiness
reached the zenith with music, games
and dance. In the photo, the Kids
jovially shout out “HAPPY NEW
YEAR!!”.

With a goal, to make a meaningful difference in
the lives of marginalized and disadvantaged
adolescent girls residing in urban slums through
economic, social and educational transformation
initiatives so that they can live their life with
dignity & respect and be equal citizens of the
country. Aarohan in association with G.E stared
a project called Umang.In 6month of this associ-
ation remarkable change is noticed in beneficiar-
ies. Students are turning with greater confidence,
attitudinal change in parents towards their girl
