1/2 PANEL: [Philadelphia, Pennsylvania] Night time; The opening panel focuses on a science
institute. The corporate logo Biodyne could be seen in big blue letters across the top of the
building. It is a typical business institute building that has a blocky but “cutting-edge sciencey”
appearance to it. The front of the building has a little grassy area that has one of those business
sculptures in front of it. It looks like a bunch of small pillars with spheres on top of them. the
sculpture is about 8 ft. High with a cement base and a small plaque on it. A stray dog is standing
next to the sculpture and is peeing on it. To the right of the front grassy area is the building’s
parking lot that has only two cars in it.
CAP: You know, they never intended what happened.
SFX: (Dog) *Sniffing
1.2
1/12 PANEL: Inside the front lobby of Biodyne, there is a secretary’s desk that is currently
occupied by a night guard. He is politely dozing with his cap over his eyes. The man is dressed
in the typical light blue security uniform. Behind his desk is the elevators that lead to the offices
and labs of the building. The front lobby is not huge, but it is big enough to have two elevators.
Most everything is dark because it is after regular operating hours.
CAP: They weren’t evil.
1.3
1/12 PANEL: In one of the hallways of the building, there are multiple doors leading to different
offices on either side. Each office has a name placard to the right of the door on the wall. The
panel is focused on one door in particular with two name placards to the right side; the names on
the placards are Dr. Timothy Mallet and Dr. Edith Mallet.
CAP: They were not diabolical,
1.4
1/6 PANEL: The inside of the office is cluttered with half-built machinery and theory papers. It
is what one would expect of passionate scientists; elegant but unorganized. A window and door
at the back of the office leads to a larger lab area that has a bunch of machinery and a large
central table area. It is not easy to see much into the lab because the office is dark but the light in
the lab is on.
CAP: or angry.
1.5
1/6 PANEL: Inside the lab, you can see two people in lab coats working on something. Their
backs are to the panel and you can’t make out many details. The lab itself is large and expensive
looking. There are various machines and equipment set up around it. To the left of the lab one of
those clear theory boards is visible with a bunch of mathematical formula on it. One of the
scientists is a woman with long lightly curled red hair; the other, a man who has a medium short
brown hair.
CAP: They just wanted to make the world a better place
CAP: ...Guess, they never heard about best intentions.

1/4 PANEL (WIDE): The two scientists are facing the panel now. They are working on a large
device in the center of the main lab table. Timothy is standing and looking at a scanning machine
that is spitting out numbers. Edith is bent over the machine and working on soldering a wire on
the device. The table is cluttered with tools and both scientists are kind of disheveled and tired
looking. The machine on the table looks like a large advanced generator. There are wires, tubes,
and antennae all over it. The generator machine is roughly shaped like a doughnut and has unlit
LED’s attached to the generator’s output for testing purposes. There is an energy output gauge
attached to the machine.
TIMOTHY: Edie, did you see that? The output spiked, I think it’s working.
EDITH: Honey, we should finish up tonight and go home; Meri is restless
and my feet are killing me.
2.2
1/4 PANEL (WIDE): Same scene, except both scientists are standing now. You can see that
Edith is in her 9th month of pregnancy. Both husband and wife are in their early 30’s and dressed
casually under the lab coats. You can see that Edith looks a little annoyed. Timothy is exhilarated
about the possibility of the machine working. The LED’s on the machine are beginning to power
up faintly.
EDITH: No, you know what, let’s go. Tomorrow the machine will still be
here and you, Luc-
EDITH: (between her first and second sentence): gasp
EDITH: I’ll take the measures! we have to record the findings.
TIMOTHY: HAH, I knew it was just a matter of time before we stabilized
the field. Imagine it Edie, a clean, source of renewable energy.
CAP: All they really intended was to solve earth’s energy crisis.
2.3
1/4 PANEL: The focus is mostly on the LED’s on the machine that are really bright now. In the
background you can still see Timothy and Edith hustling about the lab trying to take down
figures and readings for what’s going on. The only thing in real focus is the light and a small
display that has a pin gauge. The pin is steadily rising in wattage. A very faint hum can be heard
in the background.
EDITH: Marion pressure is holding at 1.085
TIMOTHY: Looks like wattage is rising. Output is nominal.
EDITH: Where is the recorder? The others are going to complain if we don’t
film this...
CAP: Their backgrounds were in Theoretical Cosmology and Quantum
Engineering.
SFX: (Near the machine and lightbulb) hmmmmmmmmm
2.4
1/4 PANEL: the same light is depicted but brighter now. Both Edith and her husband have
moved around in the background. They are still trying to measure the readings from the machine.
The pin gauge beside the light is now at maximum amplification. The hum from the machine is
rising, and you can see some sort of vibrating disturbance around it.
TIMOTHY: These readings are off the charts.
EDITH: What do you mean?
TIMOTHY: I mean that we’ve stored enough energy to power an entire city
for weeks.
EDITH: What? But that is imposs-
SFX: HMMMMMMM
2.5
Small Panel (Inside Panel 2.4): the panel shows part of the lab around Edith but everything is
awash in a deep purple glow. Edith has a scared look on her face, she knows something has gone
wrong
EDITH: Tim. What’s that?
PAGE THREE
3.1
1/3 PANEL (WIDE): The light has gone a deep purple and the disturbances around the machine
are becoming more vivid. Both Edith and Timothy are looking on in horror at the machine; they
are both stopped in place, frozen in indecision. The machine is showing some stress from the
distortions and vibrations shaping up around it.
CAP: Their research into Marion particles was groundbreaking.
SFX: (Machine) vvvvrrrrrrrrrRRRRRR
3.2
1/6 PANEL: A close-up of Timothy trying to act. He is scared and trying to advance on the
machine but he is having trouble trying to reach where his wife is. His face shows signs of fear
and futility as he begins to try and repair what they have done.
TIMOTHY: The energy is coalescing, an event is imminent.
TIMOTHY: The Marion particles and the generator’s energy stores are
bonding, the field is destabilizing.
CAP: They would have been heroes...
SFX: (Machine) RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
3.3
1/6 PANEL: A close-up of Edith scared as well. She is working on trying to contain the
situation. She is handling a screwdriver, trying to unscrew a panel near the wires in the machine.
There is a bit of sweat on her brow and she is on the verge of frantic.
EDITH: We need to bleed the excess energy out of the field.
EDITH: If it degrades any more it could collapse into a singularity.
CAP: Had it worked.
SFX: (Machine) RRRRRRRRRRRRR *SNIK*
3.4
1/3 PANEL (WIDE): The panel shows most of the lab with the machine centered. Tim and Edith
are holding hands lightly, almost as if it were an afterthought. They are watching the machine
become surrounded by a shimmering energy. The shimmer in the machine is beautiful and you
can make out a sort of ‘other side’ through it where there is some sort of land beyond. Edith has
dropped her tool and has her hand on the baby bump under her lab coat. They both have a
hopeless look to their faces, resigned to what is about to happen.
TIMOTHY: We have to....Oh god...you can se-
EDITH: Honey, our Meri...
TIMOTHY: I’m so sorry, Edie. Oh Christ, I’m so-

3/4 PANEL (Page Bleed): We are brought back outside to the same image of the Biodyne labs.
There is more sky shown in this image due to the bigger panel. The dog is not peeing anymore
but he is barking at the sky. A pillar of light encompasses the building. It is beaming directly into
the sky and there is a strange light playing across it. Something like an aurora borealis can be
seen extending past the beam and going across the sky. The pillar of light does not damage the
building, but it is a thick and ominous beam of energy (blue in color). There is a physical
disturbance that plays across the beam, like a vibration. The beam itself goes off-page, we can’t
see where it culminates. Very faintly there is indication that a baby is crying.
CAP: They wanted to have a legacy to be proud of.
SFX: (Around the beam) WHHHHMMMMMMMMMM
SFX: (Coming from around the building) waaaaahhhhhh
4.2
1/12 PANEL (Suspended in the full page bleed): Inside the lobby again. The guard is up and
frantically pushing one of the elevator’s up buttons. He is talking into his walkie-talkie but
nothing can be heard. Still faintly, the crying sound is still to be seen.
CAP: Instead, it was one of horrifying consequences.
SFX: AAAHhhhh, WaaaHHHHAAaahhh
4.3
1/12 PANEL (‘’ ‘’): The Mallet’s office is in this panel now and it is pretty much the same but
the wall is covered in a dark purple swirl and pattern. It looks like there is energy burn across the
walls but it is definitely a pattern that does not exactly look natural. There is a faint blue glow
coming from the large window that shows the lab. There is no other indication of power in this
room and the two scientists are nowhere to be seen. The crying is coming from the lab. The lab
is damaged as well and the Marion generator is partially gone, the same purple patterning is all
over the walls of the lab. It is thicker in this room and looks a bit like mold or fungus.
CAP: Their “legacy” changed our world irreparably.
SFX: WAAAAHHHHHHH UHWAAAHHHHHH
4.4
1/12 PANEL (‘’ ‘’): The floor of the lab is revealed in a medium-close shot. The clothing that
both scientists were wearing is lying rumpled on the ground. It looks like both scientists just
disappeared and left their clothing behind. In the clothing of the female scientist is a crying baby
girl. A tiny tuft of red hair can be seen on her head. The glow is coming from around the child; it
is dissipating though. Beside the baby is a small creature that is also glowing. It looks kind of
like a small furry baby fox. The body is pale green/teal, the tail is layered with darker stripes.
The baby fox’s eyes are completely blue. It is curled up protectively against the baby. The belly
fur of the fox is almost white with faint green tinges.
CAP: My parents dropped Eidolons onto our world.
