Child welfare agencies can successfully partner with Medicaid and managed care organizations to address the complex health and behavioral needs of children who experience maltreatment. If prevention and intervention efforts are applied early and effectively, these high-risk children and youth may avoid costly health conditions and experience improved health and psychological outcomes.
Child abuse and neglect is an important concern that negatively affects the physical and psychological well-being of a population that is already vulnerable. Increased preventive services to children in high-risk households can help states minimize the cost of health/medical services to deep-end youth, reduce the number of children with chronic medical conditions and can improve general well-being outcomes. Providing targeted prevention programs and interventions to these children of at-risk families have been shown to reduce the cost of providing intensive services to children with poor health outcomes later on.
Children who are investigated for maltreatment or enter the child welfare system have greater health needs. Children investigated by the welfare system have been found to have 1.5 times more chronic health conditions than the general population. After controlling for other risk factors, children with maltreatment reports have a 74-100% higher risk of hospital treatment. Over 28% of children involved with maltreatment investigations are diagnosed with chronic health conditions during the three years following the investigation.Budget for Children Analysis A Beginners’ Guide
Budget analysis — is that not what economists do? Yes, that is what the whole world believed till about two decades ago when human rights activists woke up to the fact that realisation of human rights was not possible if commitments made were not backed by resources — especially financial. Thus began budget analysis from a human rights perspective. What is interesting is that industry has been carefully monitoring government budgets and lobbying governments for decades now. It took human rights groups longer to get to it. Since then organisations across the world have been undertaking budget analysis work and also advocating with the governments using it, with varying degrees of success.
Budgets are made by us all the time — at home and at work. It is the same set of skills that we use to understand and work on these budgets that are required to understand and analyse government’s budgets. It is with this perspective that we must use this toolkit.
Realising the importance of monitoring budget analysis as a tool for monitoring realisation of children’s rights, HAQ: Centre for Child Rights, New Delhi, India began doing this in 2000. This toolkit is based on HAQ’s experience. It also draws upon the experience of others working on similar issues across the world.

CWISH Annual Report 2014
CWISH from the day of its establishment has been rigorously working for ensuring the rights of children and this year too we could bring change in the lives of vulnerable children. This was possible by adopting various strategies and working directly with children, school, and communities to advocating on promoting children's rights in community, district and National level.
CWISH conceptualized campaigns like Green Flag Movement against child labor and Youth in Black Cap against Child Sexual Abuse which has been success to create a momentum in reducing violence against children.
Nepal is in the process of drafting new constitution. In this context, CWISH engaged with members of constitutional assembly, parliament and the civil society to ensure children's right in the constitution. Further, CWISH instigated to review 25 years of Convention on the rights of Child (CRC) in Nepal which is in the process to document achievements, learning, challenges and providing recommendations.

Part 1
The Core Values of the Universal Child Care Organization
The universal child welfare value is the intervening ethical end aimed by the entire characteristics of the child welfare part of the practice. Also, it is a source integration of general basic values of social work because, for children, liberty comprises of the likelihood to grow as well as build up without harm as well as exploitation. The justice of children includes right to basic needs along with nurturance. Moreover, a child does not request to be produced, therefore it is children birthright. Additionally, these privileges are present for the reason that children, similar to adults, are also human beings having intrinsic as well as irreducible value. As a final point, if we do possess some selfless obligation to fellow individuals, it is particularly likely for children because we are the ones who create them to be, reliant on us, they are weak, as well as they lack power and influence.
Another important core value of the universal child welfare organization is known as transparency. through the Universal Child Welfare Organization is allowing the character of human service professionals to walk before them, and use their heart to speak boldly, clearly and with confidence on the societal issue of child welfare. Each year, more than thirty billion dollars is spent on a federal, state and local level in order to stimulate the well-being of vulnerable children and their families. However, with the core value of transparency involved in this nonprofit organization, we are able to promote ongoing quality improvement in child welfare. Even with the core value of transparency, there comes some sort of accountability within the child protection system; as the more we increase transparency in our child protection system the more aware the public is about what is taking place in a day-to-day child protection work, the less likely issues within the system will be overlooked until yet another tragedy takes place.
To contribute to the well-being of the people, groups, families, and global communities, the child welfare agency has formed numerous policy and norms to direct practiced activity, for instance, the application of change theory which will be applied by altering the performance of foster care as well as policies employed to foster care along with the community’s opinion of foster children. Also, it shall start with providing the problems to be transformed to the related parties as well as influencing them to create a way for a change in the manner foster children are treated.
What is its mission?
The mission of the Child welfare is to protect, promote, and improve the protection, wellbeing as well as the healt.
Importane of family life?
Family life is important for many reasons. Firstly, it provides us with a sense of belonging and identity. Our family members are the people who are closest to us and know us the best. They provide us with emotional support, comfort, and guidance throughout our lives. Secondly, family life helps to shape our values and beliefs. Children learn from their parents and siblings about what is important in life, what is right and wrong, and how to interact with others. Finally, family life can be a source of joy and happiness. Spending time with loved ones and creating memories together can be incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. Family is an integral part of our social and emotional lives. It provides us with a sense of connection and belonging that is hard to find elsewhere. Our family members are the people who know us the best and are always there for us, no matter what. They provide us with emotional support, comfort, and guidance throughout our lives, helping us navigate the ups and downs that come with life.
Moreover, family life plays a crucial role in shaping our values and beliefs. Children learn from their parents and siblings about what is important in life, what is right and wrong, and how to interact with others. They learn about their cultural and religious traditions and the customs that define their family. This early learning forms the foundation of our beliefs and values that can guide us throughout our lives.
Finally, family life can be a source of joy and happiness. Spending time with loved ones and creating memories together can be incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. Whether it's enjoying a family dinner, playing games or taking a vacation together, these shared experiences help us bond and strengthen our relationships. These memories become a source of comfort and joy, especially during difficult times.

You work as the DOS (Dean of Students) at a faith-based, private, medium-sized, liberal arts school in the south. Your student population is 5,000 with 3,0000 undergraduate students. Your undergraduate population is approximately 80% white/Caucasian with the remaining approximately 20% of the undergraduate population made up of minorities: African American (85% of total 20%), Hispanic/Latino Americans (8%), Asian Americans (7%) as well as Native Americans (5%). Currently, within the student affairs model at your institution, there is no established multicultural office and your programming funding has not changed since 2010 (limited resources).
Scenario:
You have been approached by some of your minority student leaders (students involved in CAB, SGA, Orientation) in creating more specific opportunities for engaging new minority students in order to help with retaining more minority students. After meeting with the students several times, a meeting is finally accepted by the President of your institution. He is in favor of moving forward but tells the students that he would like for this endeavor to be organic in its approach and lead by the students in creating these new programs. He doesn't think a top-down approach (creating a Multicultural Affairs office) is the right fit but tasks you with helping this new student initiative.
What approach would you, the DOS, take in helping these students? How much involvement should you, the DOS, have in this creation to keep it truly 'student-driven'?
2. Tinto’s (1993) model of college departure has indicated that the greater a student’s academic and social integration, the more connected the student will be to the institution. Tinto (1993) goes on to indicate that orientation is the groundwork to achieving academic and social integration. Do you think that Tinto's (1993) model is still applicable to Gen Z and is orientation truly the right place to start?
3. Does 'student life programming' strengthen the academic enterprise? If so, then how? If not, why not pour funding back into strengthening academics? Please provide one recent article (2009-Present) that provides evidence for your answer.

Performance excellence is also supportive philosophy since it exemplifies the innovativeness and solutions that are based on available evidence, transcend borders and built knowhow. On the other hand, professionalism supports the philosophical tenets promoted by ASAF especially for the reason that it affects the quality of service provided by the child protection agency, the attitude they bring, the associations they create and the commitment towards achieving the goals of the agency.
Integrity enhances the ethical mannerisms of each of the employees within the firm as they
extend their services. Stewardship of the resources is an important philosophy especially for the reason that it increases the transparency and accountability of the employees within the Administration for Children and Families

Em consonância com os ODS – Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a Estratégia Global para a Saúde das Mulheres, Crianças e Adolescentes, e aplicando uma abordagem baseada nos direitos humanos, os esforços de cuidados pós-natais devem expandir-se para além da cobertura e da simples sobrevivência, de modo a incluir cuidados de qualidade.
Estas diretrizes visam melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados pós-natais essenciais e de rotina prestados às mulheres e aos recém-nascidos, com o objetivo final de melhorar a saúde e o bem-estar materno e neonatal.
Uma “experiência pós-natal positiva” é um resultado importante para todas as mulheres que dão à luz e para os seus recém-nascidos, estabelecendo as bases para a melhoria da saúde e do bem-estar a curto e longo prazo. Uma experiência pós-natal positiva é definida como aquela em que as mulheres, pessoas que gestam, os recém-nascidos, os casais, os pais, os cuidadores e as famílias recebem informação consistente, garantia e apoio de profissionais de saúde motivados; e onde um sistema de saúde flexível e com recursos reconheça as necessidades das mulheres e dos bebês e respeite o seu contexto cultural.
Estas diretrizes consolidadas apresentam algumas recomendações novas e já bem fundamentadas sobre cuidados pós-natais de rotina para mulheres e neonatos que recebem cuidados no pós-parto em unidades de saúde ou na comunidade, independentemente dos recursos disponíveis.
É fornecido um conjunto abrangente de recomendações para cuidados durante o período puerperal, com ênfase nos cuidados essenciais que todas as mulheres e recém-nascidos devem receber, e com a devida atenção à qualidade dos cuidados; isto é, a entrega e a experiência do cuidado recebido. Estas diretrizes atualizam e ampliam as recomendações da OMS de 2014 sobre cuidados pós-natais da mãe e do recém-nascido e complementam as atuais diretrizes da OMS sobre a gestão de complicações pós-natais.
O estabelecimento da amamentação e o manejo das principais intercorrências é contemplada.

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.

Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).

Sustentacular Cells: Produce mucus and maintain ionic and molecular environment.
Basal Cells: Replace worn-out olfactory cells with an average lifespan of 1-2 months.
Bowman’s Gland: Secretes mucus.
Stimulation of Olfactory Cells:
Odorant dissolves in mucus and attaches to receptors on olfactory cilia.
Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.
Membrane Potential and Action Potential:
Resting membrane potential: -55mV.
Action potential frequency in the olfactory nerve increases with odorant strength.
Adaptation Towards the Sense of Smell:
Rapid adaptation within the first second, with further slow adaptation.
Psychological adaptation greater than receptor adaptation, involving feedback inhibition from the central nervous system.
Primary Sensations of Smell:
Camphoraceous, Musky, Floral, Pepperminty, Ethereal, Pungent, Putrid.
Odor Detection Threshold:
Examples: Hydrogen sulfide (0.0005 ppm), Methyl-mercaptan (0.002 ppm).
Some toxic substances are odorless at lethal concentrations.
Characteristics of Smell:
Odor blindness for single substances due to lack of appropriate receptor protein.
Behavioral and emotional influences of smell.
Transmission of Olfactory Signals:
