1. Safeguard safety
Safeguards are metal parts that are
lowered or slide to protect operators
from flying debris or water. They go
on top of the machine and have rubber
parts on it that can get caugh in the
jaws. We have had a few incidents
when this had happened and the
whole metal guard comes off and hit
operators in the head or body. To
avoid this operators must close down
the safety guard BEFORE starting the
chawks of the machine, and make sure that the rubber parts do
not flap and get caugh before starting the machine, and be
careful when lifting the guards also, it may fall again and hit
you in the head.
Make sure that the guards are properly tight and secure and to a
razonable distance away from the machine.
