An updated version of the introduction to our gospel series "Growing Deep in the Gospel". In it we look at how Jesus, the Gospel, the Church and the Mission form the basis of the "Big Picture". If we understand the "Big Picture" we will be able to better answer questions like "What does God says life is all about?", "Why did God create me?", "What is the purpose of life?", "What is God's will for me?", and "How do I decide what is important in life?".
CHRISTIAN SUPERNATURAL TEACHINGS, BIBLE CLASS LESSONS, GOSPELS BY LEADER OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU, THE SUPERNATURAL TEACHER AND SOLE SPIRITUAL HEAD, BROTHERHOOD OF THE CROSS AND STAR
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.

3. “But those things which God foretold by
the mouth of all His prophets, that the
Christ would suffer, He has thus
fulfilled.” (Acts 3:18)
Jesus’ plan of Atonement was prepared before the creation of Earth (1 Peter
1:20). God disclosed many details of His plan through prophets. For example:
His virginal birth
(Isaiah 7:14)
The date of His
baptism and His
death (Daniel 9:24-27)
His mission
(Isaiah 61:1)
His divinity
(Isaiah 9:6)
His mercy
(Isaiah 42:1-4)
His substitutionary
sacrifice
(Isaiah 53:4-5)
His resurrection
(Psalm 16:10)
4. “‘and I will shake all nations, and
they shall come to the Desire of All
Nations, and I will fill this temple
with glory,’ says the Lord of
hosts.” (Haggai 2:7)
Jesus came as “the Desire of
All Nations.” He proclaimed
the universality of His mission
since His birth.
“A light to bring revelation to the
Gentiles.” (Luke 2:32)
“And all flesh shall see the
salvation of God.” (Luke 3:6)
“Behold! The Lamb of God who
takes away the sin of the world!”
(John 1:29)
No question, Jesus came
as the Savior for all
humanity. What does this
truth mean for us in the
context of mission?
5. “These twelve Jesus sent out and
commanded them, saying: ‘Do not go
into the way of the Gentiles, and do
not enter a city of the Samaritans.
But go rather to the lost sheep of the
house of Israel.’” (Matthew 10:5-6) The people of Israel was called to
be a light for the nations (Isaiah
60:1-3). Therefore, Jesus sent
His disciples to preach to the
house of Israel first.
After that initial preaching, the
Gospel would be spread in wider
circles so the whole world would
eventually listen to it (Acts 1:8).
6. Despite the fact that
Jesus ministered mainly
among the Jews, there’s
no question that from
the very start His
mission was for the
whole world.
Matthew 5:13-14. Jesus encouraged His disciples to be the salt
of the Earth and the light of the world.
Matthew 24:14; Mark 14:9. The Gospel would be preached all
over the world.
Luke 14:15-24. When Israel rejected Jesus, the Gospel began
to be preached to the Gentiles.
Matthew 13:36-43. We must sow the whole world with the
seed of the Gospel.
“I have come as a light into
the world, that whoever
believes in Me should not
abide in darkness.” (John 12:46)
7. “to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by
many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and
speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.” (Acts 1:3)
Jesus prepared His disciples for the “Great
Commission” during 40 days after His
resurrection. He established some pillars for
them to preach the Gospel around the world.
The road to Emmaus
(Luke 24:13-31): Bible
study.
In the Upper Room
(John 20:19-23): The
power of the Holy Spirit.
At a table
(Mark 14:14-18):
Preaching and healing
come together.

8. “to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by
many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and
speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.” (Acts 1:3)
Jesus prepared His disciples for the “Great
Commission” during 40 days after His
resurrection. He established some pillars for them
to preach the Gospel around the world.
On the beach (John 21):
The message is preached with
mercy and forgiveness.
On a mountain in Galilee
(Matthew 28:16-20): Jesus
sends us to preach and to
baptize; He’s always with us.
On the Olive Mountain
(Acts 1:1-11): The work must
follow God’s plan throughout
the world until the Second
Coming of Jesus.
