Ryan Davis was disappointed by his previous college experiences and unsure about his career path, having switched his major from Political Science to Education but then realizing he did not want to major in Education either. He was interested in communications but his love of History and teaching made him hesitant. He had an epiphany that he was young and should pursue his dream in communications. After deciding to follow his passion for media, he researched schools like Full Sail that could help him achieve his career goal in that field.

Melody Landry transferred to Full Sail University's MCBS program because she was unhappy with her previous communication degree program that focused more on relationships and culture than media and technology. Full Sail appealed to her because of its creative curriculum and option for online studies, which allowed her to stay living where she wanted. Since transferring, she has been much happier with her classes and able to pursue her passions for media and music, feeling like she is on the right track to achieving her goals.
Week 2 Exploration: Storyboard
1) Before starting at Full Sail University, the author felt stuck working dead-end jobs and did not believe she could achieve her goals.
2) She earned her high school diploma through an online program, which gave her confidence to pursue her degree online as well.
3) She has always been interested in media and writing, and wants to become a new media journalist through Full Sail's Media Communications program.

Hannah was unsure of what to do after high school but discovered the Full Sail University MCBS program that seemed perfect for her interests in media. She and her mother compared the MCBS program very favorably to communications degrees from other schools. Though initially skeptical, Hannah's father was eventually convinced by her enthusiasm and the opportunities at Full Sail. Hannah has since enjoyed her classes and continued learning in the MCBS program.

This caused them to leave their high school and be homeschooled. After reevaluating their goals and graduating early with honors from another school, they attended college but realized the art program they were in was not the right fit. They then enrolled in a recording arts program but still felt they were neglecting other interests. Their admissions representative then recommended the MCBS program, which helped Kishuna pursue their passions for media and feel like they were meant to be there.

During a summer program at an elementary school in 2011, the author tutored students in reading and math and realized their passion for teaching. This experience showed the author how education can change someone's life for the better, as it did for them. The author now wants to promote education in minority communities and be a role model to show students the importance of pursuing higher education. The author was pleased to see improvement in one student they tutored and to hear the grateful mother say that the tutoring helped her son's reading and math. This reinforced the author's belief that education is the most valuable gift and inspired them to continue their own education to earn degrees from UC Riverside.

Mark Boatman grew up in a household of educators who stressed the importance of education. He attended schools in Idaho and Washington from preschool through high school, where his father was assistant principal. He enjoyed various classes, activities, and leadership roles. Boatman went on to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Idaho in Anthropology and Political Science. They earned a GED and attended proprietary medical assistant programs, taking on significant student loan debt. Feeling unfulfilled, they enrolled at Weber State University, despite imposter syndrome and lacking basic academic skills. They worked extremely hard, earned a high GPA, and became involved in student organizations. The experience sparked a desire to study social work and do international study. The speaker encourages others facing doubts or predetermined paths to take the first step towards writing their own story.

- 2. Before I started the MCBS Program I was really disappointed in my previous college experiences.
- 3. I decided to switch my major from Polictical Science to Education
- 4. I realized that I didn’t want to major in in education as well. I was frustrated with myself because I couldn’t decide.
- 5. I always thought I wanted to do something in the communications field, but my love for History and teaching halted me from moving in that direction.
- 6. But then I realized that I was young and have a whole life in front of me and that if my dream was doing something in the communications field then I should just go for it.
- 7. Because of that “epiphany” I decided to look for schools that would put me in a position to reach my dream.
- 8. Because of that I inquired about Full Sail’s online degree programs, until finally a Full Sail rep reached out to me and gave me more than enough info.
