EXPERIENCE
Personnel Management
• 20 years diverse management experience including teams of over 50 employees
• Supervision of training program for new trainees including directing
subordinate instructors and students in both ship board and small boat operations.
• Lead as second in command of both a search and rescue station and an inland river
tug boat. Also the head of navigation department on board sea going buoy tender.
Shipboard Maintenance and Inspection

search and rescue station in Mobile, AL.

material condition of a 40 year old boat.
Ship and Small Boat Operations
• Qualified as Deck Watch Officer (DWO) for on board 180’ and 225’ sea going buoy
tenders, and 75’ Inland River tug pushing a 99’ barge.
• Qualified as operator of 25’ patrol boat, 41’ patrol boat, and river skiff.
• Conducted search and rescue, law enforcement and homeland security missions on small
boats.
• 4 years’ experience as DWO in coastal and Open Ocean patrols in Alaska, 3 years’
experience as DWO on river patrols and operations on the Western Rivers.
• 9 years’ experience costal, open ocean and river navigation.
• Currently qualified as a DWO on a 270’ Coast Guard Cutter.
Public Affairs
• Informed public of issues impacting national economic significance including extreme flooding then
extreme drought on the Mississippi River

oversight of new barge fleeting area permits working with senior leadership and the Army Corps of
Engineers.
