Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to bring together job design and career theory in the examination of how proactive employees optimize their well-being (i.e. job satisfaction and perceived health) through job crafting and career competencies. This study offers an integrated account of the
pathway from proactive personality to well-being.
Design/methodology/approach – Data were collected by a cross-sectional self-report survey study among 574 employees working in various organizations.
Findings – The results of structural equation modeling analyses supported the proposed double mediation model: job crafting and career competencies both mediated the positive relationship between proactive personality and well-being. The findings suggest that proactive employees can enhance their well-being both through proactive job redesign and the development of career-related skills and abilities.
Research limitations/implications – This study precludes causal explanations. Future research should further investigate the role of employee proactivity related to contemporary work topics, including temporary contracts and self-employment.
Practical implications – Managers and HR practitioners can optimize employee well-being by focusing on HR policies related to job redesign, as well as investing in training and development of career competencies.
Originality/value – This paper integrates two research domains by exploring how proactive employees take a proactive stance toward their job as well as their career, and investigates how this proactive approach contributes to their well-being. In addition, the authors demonstrated a link between the development of career competencies and employee health.

This study aimed to investigate whether career competencies could enhance an employee's subjective career success in terms of perceived employability and work–home balance via job crafting behaviors. Based on Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Theory, we examined a potential motivational process in
which career competencies, as a personal resource, would enhance career success through expansive job crafting. The results showed that job crafting mediated the positive relationship between career competencies and both internal
and external perceived employability. In addition, job crafting mediated the positive relationship between career competencies and work–home enrichment. We expected a negative association between job crafting and work–home interference, yet our results indicated that career competencies are indirectly and positively related to work–home interference via job crafting. With our findings,
we add to JD-R Theory by (1) showing that career competencies may be considered a personal resource, (2) empirically examining the role of job crafting in motivational processes, and (3) showing that enhanced subjective career
success can be an outcome of motivational processes. Organisations may use these findings to implement developmental HR practices aimed at increasing
career competencies and job crafting.

The study revealed that the WLB is slightly above average and factors like age, Type of family and experience did not show any significant relationship.Work Life Balance assumes greatest significance when the demands of one’s work and the life aspects seem equally critical at the same point in time.In the present global scenario every business organization tries to maintain specific standards and quality to attain reputation and recognition for their products along with customer satisfaction in terms of quality of services, products, reasonable price and other offers etc. On the other hand employees are also demanding more from their employers to improve their social life. The Impact of Employee Engagement on Employee Retentionijtsrd
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of employee engagement on employee retention. Employee engagement is a complex management concept that is becoming increasingly important. This helps organizations to take advantage of benefits associated with their organization. Overwork is a negative phenomenon that limits employee productivity. As a result, we found that there is an intermediary relationship between job satisfaction and employee engagement and intention to leave. This means that while an employees job satisfaction increases as an employees work commitment increases, this work commitment tends to make the employee more willing to volatility. The sampling method chosen in this study was probabilistic sampling, as the researchers chose a descriptive study design. In this study, researchers collected data from respondents using a simple random sampling method lottery method . Using an interview design she collected a sample of 60 people. The survey concluded that 43.3 of respondents had moderate employee engagement, 40 had good employee engagement, and 16.7 had low employee engagement. Dr. P. A Study on the Quality of Work Life of Women Employees of Mahathma Eye Hospit...ijtsrd
Working women always need to do a juggling act of doing multiple talks at home as well as at workplace. They need to constantly ensure that these multiple roles and responsibilities do not hinder each other. Therefore, it becomes imperative for organisations to pay heed to the demands of their women employees and deconstruct the Quality of Work Life concept, to allay the misgivings of women about giving up their joy of life and work or compromising one of the two realms of responsibilities and to ensure that the two realms personal and professional are not at cross purposes. The congruence of the demanding roles is highly essential for working women. Quality of Work Life could be defined as synthesis of work place strategies, processes and environment which stimulates employee’s job satisfaction and his her overall satisfaction with life. The research findings of the paper show that the measurement of the quality of working life could be reliable and that the organization has possibilities to increase its employee’s quality of life and loyalty by improving the working conditions and environment. Youth Unemployment in India - Present ScenarioArul Edison
Young Indians face major barriers because of poverty and low levels of human capital. Though educational attainment has risen quickly in recent years, gaining a foothold in the labour market remains elusive for many young Indians. In rural and urban areas, young males are usually employed in casual jobs, while their female counterparts tend to be self-employed. Although a large proportion of young rural women are employed in agriculture, rural males are increasingly turning to the non-farm sector. In comparison, young urban males are largely working in the services sector. This paper highlights youth unemployment in India - present scenario.
The Hospitality industry is one of the largest service industries in India. Approximately 300 hotels will come up in India over the next three years, constituting about 17% of Asis’s hotel constructions pipeline. India has the second largest number of hotels (292) under construction after Chine (592). The hotel projects under construction include projects from companies such as Four Seasons, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotel Corp., and Indian Hotels.
Environmental Protection Law – An Act to Improve the Quality of EnvironmentArul Edison
Environmental degradation in India has been caused by a variety of social, economic, institutional and technological factors. Rapidly growing population, urbanization and industrial activities have all resulted in considerable deterioration in the quality and sustainability of the environment. Environmental ethics have also formed an inherent part of Indian religious precepts and philosophy. Environmental protection is a practice of protecting the natural environment on individual, organizational or governmental levels, for the benefit of both the natural environment and humans. The Objectives of study is to understand the basic principles of the Act such as To co-ordinate the activities of the various regulatory agencies already in existence, Creation of an authority or authorities with adequate powers for environmental protection, Regulation of discharge of environmental pollutants and handling of hazardous substance, Speedy response in the event of accidents threatening environmental and deterrents punishment to those who endanger human environment, safety and health. Acts are enforced in the country, but their implement is not so easy. The reason is their implementation needs great resources, technical expertise, political and social will. Again the people are to be made aware of these rules.
The lower place India has as a destination for business investments in India, necessitated overhaul of the existing systems. Make in India campaign, also warranted reforms to make industry structures flexible and employees more productive. While industry associations demand removal of restriction on hiring and firing, reduction of pressures on compensation, bonus and social security, and continuity in operations without strike, union leaders are demanding protection to contract labour, continuation of social security benefits and payment of bonus and freedom to oppose erring employers. Besides central government, state governments like Rajasthan and Maharashtra have announced a slew of reforms in relation to Factories act, Contract Labour act and Industrial disputes act. The approach of the governments is termed by political parties and labour unions anti-labour. There is a demand to involve stakeholders in the process of reforms.
Make in India can be a path breaking campaign provided it is grounded by right policy measures and innovation ecosystem. Technology has a pivotal role in this and the efforts of the nation in promoting technological innovations have so far yielded limited success. Technology transfer requires easing FDI limits and other fiscal incentives. However, the past experience of technology transfers in military indicated failure to deliver by foreign partners. Liberalization as well as stringent conditions is hence important to make technology transfer through collaborations. Indian government has announced some fiscal incentives and welcomed collaborations. In the light of this, the need for developing competences for technology absorption has gained attention. The paper presents technology transfer and absorption issues for the success of Make in India.

a subset of population out of 259 employees, 84 male and 16 female participants were selected
as sample size of the study.
2.2 Research Design:
A research design is descriptive research and the arrangement of condition for
collection and analysis of data in a manner that aims to combine relevance to the research
purpose with economy is procedure.
2.3 Measures:
Five point Likert scale is used to collect the data from the respondents. The primary
data collected from the respondents were coded and tabulated to suit the requirements of
the study. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analyzing. The
following statistical tools have been employed to analyze and interpret the primary data.
Chi-square Test for Independence and
Bivariate Correlation.
Results
From the chi-square test cross-tabulation of sex and income (see table 1) found that, out
of 100 participants 84 per cent of the participants are male and 16 per cent of the participants
are female. From the 84 per cent of male participants, 31 per cent of participants’ income level
between 8000 and 10,000, 24 per cent of participants income level between 10,000 and 12,000,
16 per cent of participants income level between 12,000 and 14,000 and 13 per cent of
participants income level is 14,000 and above. From the 16 per cent of female participants, 5
per cent of participants’ income level between 8000 and 10,000 3 per cent of participants
income level between 10,000 and 12,000, 5 per cent of participants income level between
12,000 and 14,000 and 3 per cent of participants income level is 14,000 and above.
The value of Pearson Chi – Square is 1.643 and associated significance value is 0.650
(which is greater than 0.05). Therefore, the null hypothesis is failed to reject and we say there
is no association between the respondents’ sex and their income level in the organization (see
table 2).
From the correlation table (see table 2), it has been examined that, the result of non –
parametric correlation reveal that:
(i) There is a negative correlation between provided salary and wage is reasonable and
the job is fully satisfied and stable. The correlation coefficient is -0.014 and p – value is greater
than 0.05.
(ii) There is a positive correlation between the job fully satisfied and stable and the job
entrusted is full of challenges. The correlation coefficient is 0.032 and p > 0.05.
(iii) There is a positive correlation between job entrusted is full of challenges and
provided salary and wage is reasonable. The correlation coefficient is 0.238 and p < 0.05)
(iv) There is a positive correlation between job entrusted is full of challenges and the
job fully satisfied and stable. The correlation coefficient is 0.032 and p > 0.05.
(v) There is a negative correlation between the respondents always involved in their job
and provided salary and wage is reasonable. The correlation coefficient is -0.117 and p > 0.05.

Discussion
From the statistical analysis, it was analyzed that the association between sex with
income wise classification among the employees and the relationship between the
organizations provide reasonable salary, present job is fully secured and stable, job entrusted
is full of challenges and the employee involvement in job. We conduct our study in which 100
employees in Kiran Global Chems Private Limited, Karaikal. Our objective focus on two main
aspects. On one hand, to analyze whether the association that this relationship adopt. And on
the other, to analyze whether this relationship differ upon the variables.
In relation to the first objective we have found that our hypothesis is fulfilled, there is
an association between the sex and income level of the employees. As far as, the result point

quality of work life for the male and female employee is good in Kiran Global Chems Private
Limited. In our second objective, we found some difference on employee quality of work life.
Maximum number of employees are says that the organization providing a reasonable salary
for their existing work and present job is fully secured and stable, so they do their job with full
involvement. Few employees are says that the job is entrusted is full of challenges but the
organization never paid the reasonable remuneration for their work.
