This document discusses the elements of persuasion and provides guidance for students to develop persuasive topics and arguments. It encourages students to choose an issue they feel strongly about related to human rights, animal rights, the environment, politics or education. Students are asked to post their topic to a Padlet board. They then research definitions and examples of ethos, logos and pathos on Twitter using hashtags. Links are provided to examples of persuasive speeches and presentations that employ these persuasive elements. Students are instructed to write a thesis statement and one paragraph expressing their views on their chosen topic for their blog. They are also asked to leave a one paragraph comment on a classmate's blog with their opinion on their topic.
