Running head: Internal and External Stakeholders 1 Internal and External Stakeholders 2 Introduction Productivity and motivation are an essential aspect of any organization, and the prisons department is not an exception. Like any other organization, they need continuous monitoring and ensuring that all departments are working smoothly to ensure efficiency. The supervisors should make sure that the workers in the criminal justice system work under manageable environments so that they will be able to deliver quality services to the people (Jacobson, Heard, & Fair, 2017). The prisons also need to be in conjunction with the stakeholders to make sure that processes run smoothly. In this paper, I will focus on the internal and external stakeholders and the influence that the stakeholders have on the prisons department. Also, I will discuss specific solutions on the improvement of the prisons system and how I will motivate individuals also to accept the answers I have proposed. Identify the Internal and External Stakeholders. While talking about the criminal justice system, some people are affected by the system in specific ways called the Stakeholders. The stakeholders are categorized into internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders are the people inside the criminal justice system itself while external stakeholders are the people that are served by the criminal justice system or affected in any way. Internal stakeholders include the police responsible for arresting offenders, probation officers, and parole officers. They also comprise judges who run the courts, correctional officers, and people who work in the court. The internal stakeholders are people responsible for law enforcement and interpretation. Also, the people convicted are part of the criminal justice system. External stakeholders comprise elected officials, the media, and certain groups responsible for serving the crime victims. The families of the crime victims, schools, and the community at large are also part of external stakeholders. The media becomes a part of the stakeholders while they report crime victims, and when they conduct investigations on specific crimes that need more profound insights. The police officers are responsible for arresting offenders who are responsible for committing crimes such as drug trade, theft, and rape, among other crimes. They conduct arrest and gather evidence necessary to prosecute the criminals on crimes committed by offenders. Prosecutors are responsible for the investigation of crimes and making decisions as to whether the proceedings should be taken to court (Wright, 2017).
