RTT has developed a new solution called DeltaTex 2.0 that can capture materials faster and with more real-life characteristics than traditional scanning methods. It uses a new hardware scanner called QuickScan 1.0 along with DeltaTex 2.0 software to automatically generate diffuse, bump, and specular maps for materials in under 80% less time. The solution allows users to autonomously scan and process materials without relying on a service, and the maps can be used in any 3D rendering software, not just RTT's products. It is available now through either purchasing the hardware package, which takes 4 weeks for delivery, or using RTT's scanning service in Japan.

DeltaTex 1.0 was created with one simple idea in mind: Visualizing materials with high speed at the
expense of quality. But when it comes to photo-realistic visualization, there more that needs to be done
to render your material right.
Capturing all real-life characteristics of your materials such as their structure (e.g. depth) and specular
(e.g. light and its reflection) effects is a challenge that is beyond traditional methods such as flatbed
scans or photographs. That’s why the process to create these materials is currently dominated by
manual post-processing and the artist’s skill level of using 3rd party tools (e.g. Crazybump/Photoshop).
That’s why RTT has come up with a solution that not only provides a stunning never-seen-before quality,
but automates the whole process of capturing materials for subsequent rendering to the max. This
provides you better results at up to 80% less lead-time per material. The solution consists of a bundle of
RTT Hardware (RTT QuickScan 1.0) and RTT Software (RTT DeltaTex 2.0).
Seamlessly integrated with RTT DeltaGen, RTT DeltaTex 2.0 fully streamlines your 3D visualization
workflow. Not using RTT products for visualization? The standalone version will work with any renderer
of your choice, though not as nicely integrated as with DeltaGen.
