A molecular biology report for a 58-year-old female patient named Mariyakunhi showed a negative result for COVID-19 from a nasopharyngeal/oropharyngeal swab sample tested using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The test is intended to qualitatively detect the novel coronavirus identified in 2019 in Wuhan, China. A negative result means SARS-CoV-2 was not detected in the given sample but does not completely rule out infection and should be correlated with the patient's history and presentation. The report was signed by two consultant microbiologists.
