Aug - present The main focus is to increase the performance of the Well by the application of stimulation
technics such as Acidizing or Hydraulic fracture, when oil or gas is produced.
2011 – 2012 Engineer Apprentice Control Valves Technology (CVT) in Cape Town, South Africa
The main focus was the servicing of valves. My activities included inspecting, assembling,
disassembling, repairing, ordering parts, testing and the delivery of valves, sized 2.5cm to over
1.7m in diameter. Hydraulic and pneumatic tools were extensively used as well.
2010 Engineer Apprentice Eskom Palmiet Power Station in Cape Town, South Africa
Two months training on rotary equipment as part of school project. The main focus was to design
a pump or a compressor, its applications on real life, troubleshooting and maintenance on their
main parts like: impeller, splitter, diffuser and volute case.
An environmental study was done before starting-up the turbine in order to prevent animal and
plants species from extinction. We did a real-time monitoring of unit performance at current
performance level to detect and mitigate deviations from expected efficiency for the Installed
Performance Level. Shut down of the turbine, when the performance reaches its minimum
allowable range for overhauls. Onsite it was essential to check the turbine shaft from misalignment
and corrosion, and avoid the turbine runner seal clearances to reach twice the design value.

Thesis: Design and Manufacturing a radio controlled aircraft
Part of my thesis was the modelling and design of an aircraft that involved knowledge about
aerodynamic and physics. Gaining knowledge about aerodynamics enabled me to create an aircraft
shape with minor blockages of air flow, reducing the drag force and at the same time the thrust
required to move the aircraft. With the aid of physics, mechanical devices were developed to
ensure that the aircraft had enough lift to withstand the weight of the aircraft itself.
SolidWorks and Abaqus were used extensively to test the aircraft, virtually knowing the
atmospheric conditions and getting to know the aircrafts integrity structure to ensure that it does
not break during taking off, in-flight or landing.
