This document outlines a course plan for a Pediatric Early Warning Scoring System PhD nursing program. The 70-hour course is designed to help students develop an understanding of the basic concepts of pediatric early warning scores and enhance their critical thinking and ability to identify the clinical status of children. It covers the history of pediatric critical care, methods of pediatric assessment and abnormality interpretation, identifying early clinical deterioration, communication skills, demonstrating PEWS charting, benefits of PEWS, hospital policies regarding implementation, and analyzing research studies related to PEWS. The course is divided into 8 units involving both theory and practical sessions.
