The Madras High Court heard a case between Royal Yarns Coimbatore Pvt. Ltd. and the Employees Provident Fund Organization. Royal Yarns filed a writ petition challenging proceedings initiated under Section 7(A) of the Employees Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provision Act, claiming they could not honor commitments on time but were ready to remit the entire amount in 24 equal installments. However, the Court said no direction could be issued to accept payment in 24 installments and directed Royal Yarns to submit a representation requesting payment in 10 equal installments, which the Employees Provident Fund Organization shall consider. The writ petition was then disposed of without costs.
