The diary entries document Rosie's experiences as part of a military operation in occupied France. With Edith injured and Eugene dead, Rosie must get them to safety alone.

1. Rosie’s Diary

2. • 27th Monday March 1943
• Dear Diary today is the first day of us being in the
military area in France. The parachute jump was
really fun even though that we almost got caught
and killed. In the beginning me and Eugene could
not find Edith at all . It seemed she had landed
slightly further away from us. We were pretty
shocked when we couldn’t find her because the
area was infested with Getaspo officers. I hope we
find her fast.

3. • Dear diary 29th Wednesday March
1943
• Today we found out where Edith i it seems she
has been kidnapped by the Getaspo officers. I
hope they aren’t doing really hard interrogation. I
am pretty sure she won’t give any valuable
information to Germans because I know she
would never do that. We know she is in the
German base near where we landed. The base is
too heavily guarded for us to retrieve her we will
just have to wait and see.

4. • Dear Diary 31st Friday March 1943
• Today we found out that Edith will be transported
somewhere to be executed. She will be
transported from a truck which will have to be
engaged. I don’t think they will be taking the road
which is full of rubble and debris. We will stop the
truck when it takes the alternate route. My hopes
are that they won’t have a really heavily guarded
truck. But we will have to wait and see.

5. • Dear Diary 2nd May Sunday 1943
• We intercepted the truck by killing the German officer
inside and injuring the driver. When we found Edith in
the truck she was heavily bruised and she had the
stench of urine. We knew she needed medical
attendance. Eugene knew a way to an old friends
house. He knew a really safe way to Madame Lisle
house. Sadly the safe route was the sewage system. It
was bad to take Edith through that path because her
wounds would become infected if she went through the
sewers. But since there was no safer way to get to
Madame Lisle house this was best for her.

6. • Dear Diary 3rd May Monday 1943
• After we reached Madame Lisle’s house. Eugene had to help Madame
Lisle chop wood. After me and Eugene helped Madame Lisle’s house
in order, she and I gave Edith Medical attention. We made her wounds
slightly better. Madame Lisle told us that she would be having German
visitors who would want to buy her horses. When the Germans came
near 11 o clock they wanted to search the house. Eugene was
expecting this.. He brought out a machine gun and handed me a pistol.
He just went out and sprayed bullets at the Germans. Most of them
went for cover some few were not so fortunate. Most of the fighting
was over before Madame Lisle found a guard going to kill Eugene with
a knife. She quickly stabbed him with a knife. The German started
squealing and fell on the floor. Suddenly he quickly got up shot Eugene
and stabbed Madame Lisle which ultimately led to her death. I don’t
know why but Eugene said he’d rather die than bleed to death. So he
took a poison pill and killed himself because there was no chance of
his survival. Me and Edith were pretty sad because Eugene was a
really brave person,but what he did know was very cowardly.

7. • Dear diary 4th May Tuesday 1943
• After the German Ambush, me and Edith had to take
horses and head off before other German investigators
came. We had to go to Paris but, with Edith who could
barely walk it wasn’t as easy because I was not even
half as strong as Eugene. it was also really boring
because Eugene would keep saying really funny jokes.
Fortunately for me the horses were taking the weight
of my bag of weapons and Edith. I just couldn't get
over the fact that Eugene was dead.
