2. A women named Alice Waters started a community garden in
Berkeley, California in 1993.
The garden was located at the Martin Luther King Middle
School.
Ms Mabe, who started the community garden at Garinger High
School in 2012 said, “I’m hoping the community garden
members and groups in the community will come to the school
and the garden with you guys and really interact with our
students.”
3. The students can feel different when
they go to the garden. They reduces
stress and forget the problems about
changes or events in their life .
When the garden had ready the
vegetables and fruits, the people helped
to collect the fruits and vegetables and
give to the sick people and people that
need it in home.
4. Ms Mabe talks with the students
and explains how work in the
garden. She teaches them how to
plant different types of plants and
tells them how to work together.
Now the students they are there to
learn how to work in a garden
creating worm tea for the plants.
5. Now the students are helping each other
planting. Some others students they are
making holes to keep putting the other
plants in the garden of the school.
The volunteer showed to the students
what they need to do to take out the
vegetables correctly.
6. Sergio is should to the student how
he need to make a hole for don’t put
plants together or put separately or
together plants.
This girls is helping each other to
get the vegetables and put in the
green house that ms Mabe give to
the sick people.
7. Next, the other students finished to get all the
vegetables. Now the girls work for them washing
vegetables and cleaning them well and give it to Ms
Mabe.
8. Ms Mabe shows the students and teacher how to cook a natural food
using the same time the vegetables of the garden of the school. And
the students can try in home and follow the same process.
9. Before starting one project the
students design a 3D picture for the
garden of the school.
After the students make the 3D picture,
they use a paper exactly like the model
to start to work in the garden.
10. Now all the class is started take the
necessary wood for creating the project in
the garden of the school and make the same
process that is in the picture and the 3D
model.
The students are take measuring
for cut the wood and get the
pieces of the wood and start to
create the 3D project.
11. Now the students helping each other to screw all the pieces of wood
together. They cut and finished the garden bed for planting fruits and
vegetables and to make bigger the school garden.
12. The next job for the students is starting
to put the soil in the project. The bed is
finished and ready for put some seed.
And some others students is helping to
Ms Mabe to get the small pot and they
are working to put soil in the pot for
put seeds.
13. After they finished to put soil in all the
pots they started to put seed and put the
names of the fruits or vegetables. They
wait for to take out of the pot and the
green house, and put in the garden for
to continue to grow and to bear fruit.
14. After the all the work and
waiting of the time all the seed
started to begin to grow.
Students just wait longer for the
plants to bear fruits and
vegetables.
