Big heart at MG Road Cochin
Dear colleagues
I would like to share an inspirational heartwarming story that for me is a great example on how our mission of
"Growth with a big heart" is taking root in our company and is being embraced by our RGMs.
Manaz our RGM at MG road Cochin is one such RGM. On 2nd Oct 2011 he decided to clean a very dirty garbage
laden street in Cochin along with his team: inspired by Mahatma Gandhi he wanted to do clean his neighbourhood.
A simple act but very powerful! The Municipal corporation was so impressed that it gave the team a recognition for
having done this.

2. If you thought this was good: WAIT! It gets better. During the stewardships Vijay recognized Manaz and the team
with Rs 5000 award for their commitment to the "Big Heart".

3. A few weeks back Vijay and I visited the store and met Manaz and we asked him if he had celebrated with his team
and he said "Oh no I did not use the 5000 Rs to have a party but we decided to do even more good with this. On
26th Jan we plan to "Go green". We have bought plants with the 5000 Rs that Vijay gave us and will go to th e
homes of our team members and plant trees in their homes!!"
Vijay and I were left speechless by Manaz's commitment to "Big Heart" and were filled with admiration of how he
and the team are building "business with purpose" . Vijay recognized the team with another 10000 Rs and I am real
curious to know what Manaz and the team will do with it.
