Romeo chooses to marry Juliet after only knowing her for two hours. He then kills Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, in a duel after Tybalt kills Romeo's friend Mercutio. In a final act of despair, Romeo buys poison from an apothecary to kill himself, believing the poison is a better choice than remaining alive without Juliet.
