Juliet tells her parents that she has met a wonderful man from France and wants to marry him. Her father is upset because the man is a foreigner. Her mother is also unhappy because Juliet did not discuss it with them first and only met the man two weeks ago. They want to meet the man first and make sure he has a good job and can support Juliet financially. Juliet insists that she loves him and wants to marry him regardless of her parents' objections or lack of financial support.

Juliet: Hi Mum and Dad, I’m home. How are you?
Mum: Hello Dear.
Dad: Hello Juliet.
Juliet: I have some good news for you. I have met a wonderful man and we are going to get
married.
Dad: What!
Mum: Who is he? Where is he from?
Juliet: He is a foreigner. He comes from France.
Dad: Oh my god.
Juliet: Take it easy, Dad. He is handsome, polite, honest, generous and romantic.
Mum: Juliet, you stupid girl. You never told us. You should talk about it with us first. How long
have you known him?
Juliet: We met 2 weeks ago.
Dad: This is crazy.
Mum: You must bring him home. We need to check him out.
Juliet: Wait, wait, wait. Relax.
Dad: Your mother is right. Does he have money, a car, a house?
Juliet: Oh Dad, that doesn’t matter. He is a good man. He loves me very much.
Dad: 20 years ago, if I had no money, no house and no car your mother wouldn’t have
married me.
Juliet: But you haven’t seen him yet. I really love him and we want to marry.
Mum: We don’t want you to marry him.
Juliet: I am not a child. I’m a grown up.
Mum: If you are a grown up then I will not give you any money.
Juliet: I don’t care. I don’t need your money.
[Juliet walks out]
