During the meeting in Romania prof. Covasa Aurora presented with the students of School No. 2 Marginea traditions, customs and cultural values of the area of Marginea, Suceava.
3. Şezătoarea constituie un obicei străvechi din viaţa satului românesc, putând fi
definită ca o adunare comunitară restrânsă, cu multiple funcţii şi roluri sociale.
Acest obicei răspândit în toată ţara, ca dovadă a unităţii folclorului românesc,
a cunoscut manifestări specifice în zona etnografică a Bucovinei, cu variaţii de la un sat
la altul. Făcând parte din categoria Obiceiurilor de peste an, şezătorile se desfăşurau în
toată perioada rece a anului.
Obiectele folosite la șezătoare erau cele specifice prelucrăprii lânii: caierul și
furca, lâna, fuiorul, fusul, pieptenele, vârtelnița, druga, rășchitorul, șucala,
scărmănătorul, cârligele, andrelele, croșetul, acul și ața, iar gazda avea uneori stative.
Activităţile desfăşurate la şezătoare erau specifice prelucrării fibrelor textile şi
confecţionării celor două sortimente de produse: textile de casă şi ţesături pentru
îmbrăcăminte.
4. The Gathering is an ancient ritual that takes place in the heart of the
Romanian villages. This type of meeting brings together small groups of people and it
has multiple functions and roles in the society.
This custom is spread throughout the country, marking the ethnical unity of
the Romanian folklore, has developed in the etnographic region of Bukovina differently
from village to village. The Gatherings are held especially during the cold period.
Among the objects used are those needed in the process of wool making are:
spindle whorl, the spinner, blending boards, carders, doulbe and single row combs,
hooks, knitting hooks, yarn, wooden swifts and upright swifts. The activities were
mainly with an emphasis on creating fabrics out of animal and vegetable textiles for
house and clothes.

12. Programul de astăzi, este o punere în scenă a șezătorii de altă dată, la
care participă elevii claselor a V a, a VI a și a VII a.
În cadrul acesteia, copiii vă vor prezenta bancuri, ghicitori, balade, cât și cântece
vechi, specifice folclorului român. Una dintre piesele cele mai importante,
prezentată aici, este Balada lui Darie Pomohaci, un vestit haiduc din Marginea.
Darie Pomohaci a fost un haiduc sucevean legendar, informaţiile
transmise în timp arătând că strângea bani pentru a-şi face armată, cu care să
elibereze Bucovina de sub stăpânire habsburgică.
Darie Pomohaci a fost hoţ de mic, însă el a fost iubit de bucovineni,
deoarece fura de la bogaţi şi le dădea celor săraci.
După ani în care a străbătut Bucovina în lung şi lat şi a prădat mai toţi
bogaţii din regiune, Pomohaci a fost prins şi spânzurat de creanga unui fag.
Fagul în care a fost spânzurat haiducul nu a fost tăiat niciodată şi în prezent
locului respectiv i se spune „La făgan „
13. Today’s program is the recreation of the Traditional Gathering with
students from 5th-to 7th grade.
During the event they will present jokes, riddles, ballades and
traditional old songs from our folklore. One of the most important songs is the
ballade of Darie Pomohaci – one of the most famous heroic outlaws from
Marginea.
Darie Pomohaci was an outcast that tried to achieve money in order to
gather an army in order to free Bukovina from the Habsburg occupation. He
was a robber since childhood, but he was loved as he stole from the rich and
gave to money to the poor.
After years of robberies, when almost all the rich people had to do with him, he
was captured and hanged by the branch of an old beech. The old tree was never
cut and today the place is called La făgan.
