Is it good to eat healthy all the time? The Answer May Shock YouDiechen
Eating a healthy diet has numerous benefits, but it's important to be mindful of the potential downsides and find a healthy balance. Here's a recap of the pros and cons of eating healthy all the time, along with strategies for achieving a healthy balance:
Pros of Eating Healthy All the Time: Improved overall health, reduced risk of chronic diseases, stronger immune system, better mental health, increased energy levels, better sleep quality, weight management, increased longevity, and reduced healthcare costs.
Cons of Eating Healthy All the Time: Social and cultural pressures, overly restrictive eating habits, and nutrient deficiencies.
To achieve a healthy balance, individuals can:
Implement the 80/20 rule to balance healthy eating with indulgences.
Practice mindful eating to make more conscious food choices and enjoy indulgences in moderation.
Practice portion control to maintain a healthy weight and consume appropriate portions of food.
In conclusion, eating a healthy diet is important for overall health and well-being, but it's equally important to finding a healthy balance that works for each individual. By being mindful of the pros and cons of eating healthy all the time and implementing strategies to achieve a healthy balance, individuals can enjoy the benefits of a healthy diet while still indulging in moderation.
Good health is not just about healthy eating and exercise. It is also about having a good positive attitude, a positive self-image, and a healthy lifestyle. Physical fitness is not the single source of being healthy. Being healthy is being mentally healthy with emotional fitness. Being healthful should be one part of the whole lifestyle. Living a healthy lifestyle can help prevent chronic diseases and long-term illnesses. Felling good and positive about yourself and taking care of your health is more important for your self-esteem and confidence.
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being for a healthy life cycle. A person requires having a well-balanced diet and has regular body exercise. Also, live in a properly secure house; get complete sleep, and good hygienic habits. So, how do we assure that we are taking all the right steps to have good health? What is right to maintain your body? Let’s spread awareness of the importance of health. In this blog, I share 10 tips to live a healthier life.
Drink more water:
Drinking water helps to maintaining a balance of body liquids. Your body is formed of about 60% water. The function of these physical liquids includes digestion, absorption, and creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body warmth.
Get enough sleep :
Sleep performs an important part in good health and well-being throughout the whole life. Getting proper and quality sleep at the right times can improve and protect mental health, physical health, and quality of life.

ROJoson PEP Talk: CAN ONE SKIP RADIOACTIVE IODINE THERAPY IN THYROID CANCER T...Reynaldo Joson
The document discusses radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) for thyroid cancer treatment. RAIT involves using radioactive iodine-131, which is taken orally and concentrates in thyroid tissue to destroy cancer cells. It is effective for papillary and follicular thyroid cancers. RAIT is used for remnant ablation after surgery, adjuvant therapy to prevent recurrence, and treatment of known disease. While commonly recommended in the past, the use of RAIT has evolved to focus on patients at higher risk, as not all thyroid cancers require aggressive treatment like RAIT. The document questions whether RAIT can be skipped in some patients.

ROJoson PEP Talk: DOES EVERYONE HAVE CANCER CELLS IN THEIR BODY?Reynaldo Joson
The document discusses whether everyone has cancer cells in their body. It explains that while our bodies are constantly producing new cells, not all of these cells are destined to become cancerous. A typical healthy cell goes through cycles of growth, division and death, while a cancer cell does not follow this normal cycle and keeps reproducing abnormally. Not everyone inherently has cancer cells in their body from the beginning - it is possible for initially normal cells to eventually develop into cancer cells due to certain risk factors.
ROJoson PEP Talk: Can one skip CHEMOTHERAPY in BREAST CANCER TREATMENT?Reynaldo Joson
Chemotherapy is a systemic cancer treatment that uses powerful drugs to destroy fast-growing cancer cells. It works by keeping cancer cells from growing and dividing. Chemotherapy can be given alone or with other treatments depending on the cancer type and stage. Factors like a person's age, health, and the cancer details help determine the chemotherapy plan and drugs. Chemotherapy aims to cure cancer, shrink tumors before other treatments, destroy remaining cancer cells after treatment, or slow cancer progression and relieve symptoms.

13. What is WELL-BEING? How does it differ from
WELLNESS?
According to the Oxford Dictionary,
• WELLNESS is 'the state of being healthy.
• WELL-BEING is considered general health and
happiness, a state of
emotional/physical/psychological well-being.
• Well-being is more encompassing than
wellness.
INTENTIONAL
LIVING PLAN
AS A
STRATEGY FOR
WELL-BEING
Wellness is more
focused on physical
health, while well-
being emphasizes
mental and
emotional health.
14. What is WELL-BEING? How does it differ from
WELLNESS?
Our society and our medical community have
generally viewed health through the lens of
physical health rather than mental and emotional
health and defined good health mostly by
the absence of illness or disability.

15. What is WELL-BEING? How does it differ from
WELLNESS?
Wellbeing embraces more than just physical
health. It takes into account the entire person,
both body and mind, and not merely by the
“absence of illness.” Its approach to “health”
includes the presence of positive mental states,
emotions, and moods.
In its simplest terms, well-being can be described
as a state of good health, happiness, fulfillment,
and purpose, judging one’s life positively and
feeling engaged.

17. What is an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN?
Intentional living is essentially living with
intention.
Intentional living plan is essentially a plan on how
to live with intention.

18. What is an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN?
There are a lot of different concepts and strategies by different authors
on how to go about living with intention.
• Some would input religious intention or living with intention in the
context of religion.
• Some would promote living with intention in the context of a mere
transformation to have a more clear-cut direction in daily life but
without a final destination and without a finish line; without a
special emphasis on health goal.

There are a lot of different concepts and
strategies by different authors on how to go
about living with intention.
• Some would input happiness intention.
• Still others would input productivity intention.
• I, ROJoson, have my own concept and strategy.

20. What is an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN?
I have my own concept and strategy.
A little backgrounder before I give my concept and strategy.
In 1994, when I was 45 years old, I formulated an intentional living plan
targeting 70 years old.
Why 70 years old?
INTENTIONAL
LIVING PLAN
AS A
STRATEGY FOR
WELL-BEING
21. What is an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN?
Why 70 years old as the initial target?
I thought of 70 years old as this is the average lifespan of Filipinos (67
for males and 72 for females – round-off average is 70, to be used as a
fighting target and this is easy to remember to teach people).
In 2017, I was so happy to learn from the World Health Organization
that the average lifespan of all people all over the world was 70 and to
die before 70 is considered to die a premature death.

22. What is an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN?
TRIGGER:
What prompted me to make such an intentional
living plan in 1994 was the experience that I had
with dying patients.
I had seen a lot of dying patients not contented
with their lives at the time of death, even those
who are more than 70 years old, 80 and 90 years
old.

23. What is an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN?
INTROSPECTION:
I told myself that, to be able to live a contented
life on earth,
• all persons should be reminded that there is a
limit to life;
• they should prepare for the graduation day;
• they should have an intentional living plan
targeting 70 years old.

ROJoson Advocacy:
Since 1994 (at age 45), I have been teaching
people, especially my patients, on how to live life
with an intentional living plan targeting 70 years
old.

WELL-BEING
25. What is an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN?
My operational definition of intentional living plan is as
follows:
Intentional Living Plan (ILP) is a plan you make targeting a
certain number of years in which you write down things
you intend or want to accomplish on your graduation day
(last day of your targeted year) which will make you feel
you have lived your life to the fullest; you have lived a
meaningful life; and you are contented and ready to die a
happy death. [Assumption and reality: all of us will die one
day.]
INTENTIONAL
LIVING PLAN
AS A
STRATEGY FOR
WELL-BEING
26. What is an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN?
My operational definition of intentional living plan is
as follows:
Put in another way,
Intentional Living is Living with Intention; living guided
by your long-term visions and goals in life and then
designing, implementing and continually evaluating a
course of actions to reach your long-term visions and
goals, the overall expected impact of which is
CONTENTMENT (or WELL-BEING) of the life you have
lived.

28. Why use an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN as a
strategy for WELL-BEING?
From my experience and from the writings of
other authors,
making an intentional living plan
not only promotes contentment
but also contributes to longevity.
OVERALL, IT PROMOTES WELL-BEING.
(remember our definition?).
INTENTIONAL

WELL-BEING
In its simplest terms, well
being can be described as
a state of good health,
happiness, fulfillment,
and purpose, judging
one’s life positively and
feeling engaged.
29. Why use an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN as a
strategy for WELL-BEING?
In my Intentional Living Plan (ILP),
I prescribe the following focused strategies and
tools:
• Staying alive and not crippled
• Being productive
• Having a peace of mind
• Being contented
• Enjoying life

be described as a

30. Why use an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN as a
strategy for WELL-BEING?
In an intentional living plan, one makes a plan to
live up to a certain number of years, being
productive and contented.
In so doing, particularly if one includes a healthy
lifestyle in the plan to keep alive to the target
graduation day,
there is a high probability that one can reach the
target and therefore live longer.

31. Why use an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN as a
strategy for WELL-BEING?
Number of years to target for the ILP:
Target 70 years old if you don’t have a serious
medical condition.
SEVENTY (70) is the average life span of all people
in the world as well as in the Philippines and
70 is the cut-off year for premature death
declared by the World Health Organization.

32. Why use an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN as a strategy for WELL-
BEING?
Number of years to target for the ILP:
Target 5 years at a time after age 70 years old, after you reach
70 years old and if you are now more than 70 years old.
You can have a stretch target of more than 5 years as long as
you can give a realistic justification.
Example: After I reached 70 years old in 2019, I renewed my ILP and
placed a target of 75 but with a stretch to 83 because I want to see
and wait for my wife to reach 70 when I am 83.
INTENTIONAL
LIVING PLAN

33. Why use an INTENTIONAL LIVING PLAN as a strategy for WELL-
BEING?
Number of years to target for the ILP:
Target 6 months; 1 year; 2 years; 3 years; 4 years; 5 years; or 10
years, as the case may be, if you have a medical condition that
has a known actuarial life span (known average lifespan of the
medical condition).
If there is no published actuarial life span of a particular medical
condition, you can consult your physician.

Not to commit suicide.
I have learned in the past that the most important
deterrent to committing suicide was my value – I consider
committing suicide is a sin and a shame to do so.
I would manage depression by writing down my problems
and analyzing them to find solutions; meditating; walking,
swimming; going away for a while; keeping myself busy
with some stuffs; and telling my depressed feelings to my
wife, son and daughter who would then listen and provide
upliftment support.

HOW TO BE CONTENTED
In January 23, 2015, I made this statement or
resolution:
Determine the end-points in all the programs
and projects you want to do in your life that will
be considered as criteria for “contented
enough.”
After you have achieved the end-points, retire
completely and just cherish the memories of
what you have done.
