riteTIME is a labor tracking software that replaces manual paper job tickets. It allows employees to punch in and out of jobs in real-time, helps monitor performance on the work floor, and streamlines labor documentation processes. The software integrates with other systems like FourthShift and provides supervisors tools to review employee activity and approve time entries. riteTIME was implemented at a sporting goods manufacturer to improve labor tracking and bonus programs.

• Founded 1918 by Harry Gill, track coach at
University of Illinois
• Manufacture and distribute sporting goods,
primarily to schools, colleges and universities
through dealers
• Brands include Gill (track and field) PowerMax
(training and conditioning) and Porter
(basketball, volleyball, soccer)

17. Litania Sports Group
• We are like a lake: a mile wide and 12 inches
deep
• $35M annual sales
• 5000 salable items
• 155,000 square feet of manufacturing
• Much more of a job shop than a process
manufacturer

26. Motivation for riteTIME
• Bonus program for direct laborers based on
efficiency (meeting standard rates) and applied
time (utilization)
• Fourth Shift labor entry methods not pretty
(LRRP and PICK): time consuming and inflexible
• Can’t measure efficiency until job is complete
• Can’t measure individual efficiency
www.collectlabor.com
27. Motivation for riteTIME
• Manual entry done by supervisors because of
complexity (and don’t forget number of FS user
licenses)
• Not best use of supervisor time
• Difficult to be timely
www.collectlabor.com
28. Architecture of riteTIME
• Application runs on a distinct server
(in our case a virtual server)
• riteTIME SQL database resides on same server
as Fourth Shift
• Wireless network in the plant allows us to place
PCs in strategic locations (PCs nothing special,
typically retired from front office)
• PCs equipped with touch screen monitor
overlays and suspended bar code scanners

44. riteTIME Supervisor Approval
• Breaks and lunches are automatically deducted so
employee does not need to return to riteTIME PC
station unnecessarily
• Supervisor only sees their own reports
• Supervisor can filter for easier approval, i.e. look for
about 7.5 hours per employee (totals at top)
• Supervisors approve punches at the end of the shift –
approved punches are imported every day at 5:00 pm.
We set up query/email at end of import to report status
– including number of failures.

46. riteTIME Reporting
• riteTIME, Fourth Shift, and our payroll system
are all SQL-based so we developed our own
reports in SQL Report Manager (supervisors
already familiar with it)

Editor's Notes
riteTIME stores its data in an open SQL Server database which provides easy access and flexibility for integrating to other systems.
riteTIME is site-configurable which allows riteTIME to be configured to the way the client needs to collect their data. This flexibility makes it easy for riteTIME to be tailored to specific client requirements.
One of the main configuration items within riteTIME is the ability for the client to define exactly what pieces of data they want their employees to enter. They can also define WHEN a specific data element is displayed (at the START of a job/resource or when work on the job/resource is being STOPPED).
One Job at a Time- this is the most common method for most employees and requires the employee to STOP work on a job/resource BEFORE they can START work on a new job/resource.More Than One Job at a Time – this is for employees who can work multiple jobs at the same time.Job Sets – this is usually a special situation where an employee needs to START and STOP multiple jobs/resources at the same time then have riteTIME divide the total time across the jobs/resources.
riteTIME Standard – this is a full-featured client application which is also multi-lingual.riteTIME Express – this client application provides faster data entry for most types of labor recording and also lets the employees see their transactions in each section.

riteTIME Viewer is a desktop client application for supervisors, managers and administrative personnel that need to view the riteTIME data and perform grouping and filters to better analyze the data. Users can save their preferred layouts and also immediately export to Excel for additional reporting.
