OBJECTIVE
• The main aim of this
assignment is to find the
Blue, green and grey Water
footprints of Rice crop.
• It’s done by Cropwat and
Climwat app.
• Rice crop grown in Madurai
station was taken.
• Effective Rainfall available = 700
• USDA S.C Method was used.
• ETc = 754.2 mm/dec = 0.7542 m/decade = 0.21mm/day
• ETo = 4.80 mm/day
• Eff rain = 125.6 mm/dec = 0.1256 m/dec = 0.03mm/day
• Irr.Req = 846.8 mm/dec = 0.8468m/dec = 0.23mm/day
• Paddy yield = 2705 Kg/ha = 2.71 t/ha
• Eff+ETo+ETc = (0.03+4.80+0.21)mm/day = 5.04m3/ha = Total Green

• Irr.Req = 0.23mm/day = 2.300000000000000003m3/ha = Total Blue
Water foot print
• Application of Nitrate = 480 tones
• Permissible limit of Nitrate = 4.9604t/m3
• Total Grey Water footprint = 96.7741935484m3/ha
We Know that,
Paddy yield = 2.71 t/ha
Total Green water foot print=5.04m3/ha
Total Blue Water FP=
2.300000000000000003m3/ha
Total Grey Water footprint =
96.7741935484m3/ha
By adding the Paddy Yield we can conclude that
Green water foot print=7.75m3/ton
Blue water foot print =5.01m3/ton
Grey water foot print = 99.48m3/ton
