Completing the CBET Tutoring Log: “Other Activities”
If the student claims hours in the “other activity” column, please note:
The “other activity” should not fall under the categories of
homework, speaking with the child, or reading.
If hours are claimed in the other activity column, that column
must include a written description of the acceptable “other”
activity.
Acceptable “other” activities are limited to items listed below:
o Visits to libraries, museums, bookstores
o Volunteering in the child’s school
o K-12 classroom projects
o Conferences with teachers and administrators
o Using the computer with a child
o Attending K-12 school events such as Open House and Back
to School Night
Do not record activities such as:
• Shopping or visits to the mall
• Attending church
• Going to the park
• Eating out
• Attending or participating in sports events
• Play time with children
• Household chores
It is not necessary or required to complete the “Other Activity”
section of the Tutoring Log every week. It is acceptable to leave it
completely blank.
Parents should do their best to accurately and appropriately log
tutoring activities.
