Manal Abbas and Collin Bentley from William Blount High School met with school officials to discuss advancing the AP program and increasing college access for low-income students. They proposed creating an online college application guide and testing a learning management system. They selected CourseSites, a free version of Blackboard, and created the website soarcollege.org to serve as comprehensive college preparation resources. They presented these proposals to the School Board and requested endorsement to implement CourseSites across AP/Honors courses and promote soarcollege.org in order to help more students apply to colleges that match their abilities.
