Kaizens Completed
Project name: In-house Word to Mobi conversion for Word sources
 Completed Kaizen project for Word to mobi process, which has resulted in
effective reduction in conversion time and latency.
 Main objective of the Kaizen is to reduce the cost that we were spending on
converting titles by using 3p vendors.
 Resulted in savings of $12 per title and monthly savings of $480

3. Project name: Operationalizing In-house FFTP conversion using KKBC (Kindle Kids Book
Creator) tool
 Objective of this Kaizen project is to do in-house Fixed layout conversions using
KKBC tool
 Performed testing on KKBC and gave enhancement suggestions to design the tool
more user friendly with various options enabled in it.
 This has resulted in cost saving of $39 per title and an annual savings of about
$50,000 in Fixed Layout Conversions.
