PROJECT DETAILS AT FLOWSERVE
• Translates steering feature requirements into functional/physical system technical specifications and
decompose those requirements to sub-systems and components as required
• Seeks input from other engineering areas (e.g., service, manufacturing) for specifications
• Use change management process/tools for configuration management of specifications.
• Drive communization of feature implementation where possible (i.e., reduce unnecessary complexity)
• Create system DFMEA and ensure linkage to component DFMEA and manufacturing PFEMA. Roll
down of DFMEA failure modes to the SMT engineering team.
• Collaborate on system verification and validation plans/procedures
• Interact with the various component release engineers to ensure alignment between
system/subsystem/component boundaries
• Work with component and vehicle engineering to ensure system/subsystem interfaces are working as
defined
• Supports the steering organizations sourcing process with specification development and supplier
technical reviews
• Create 3D models & component Drawings
• Provide technical steering system support throughout all phases of the vehicle program to ensure robust
program execution and performance
Project 2: Design of External Gear pump for Earthmovers & Steering mechanisms:
• Providing end to end project & product engineering support to Stuttgart ,Germany for order execution
of External Gear Pumps for various applications.
• Prepare Pumps for steering mechanisms, Harvesting machines and tractors for agricultural needs
• Indulge in innovative ideas generation and conceptualizing ideas.
• Study of competitor pumps with various CC and configuration
• Aftermarket research on available designs and cost
• Prepare offer drawings, Component drawings, Mock up models, Prototypes of bill of materials using
CREO/SAP
• Releasing the offer /component drawings & Bill of materials to the shop floor with documentation
• Calculation of velocity, max. Pressure, Bearing Loads, tolerance zone, end play , Vortsehmass, screw
length, tightening torque etc.
• Application of GD & T in Component drawings
• Checking in and out of PDM, Promoting the drawings, Maintain appropriate data base
• Follow CMM quality standards in maintaining documentation
• Selection of components from available inventory or modifying the existing inventory
• Additional responsibility of training the team, Presenting the product to clients etc etc.
Project 1 : WIK - Multi Stage centrifugal pump development
• Selecting a WIK Pump completely complaint with API 610 to meet flow, heads, pressure and
temperature & speed requirements.

• Select high stiffness rotor with low static deflection
• Prepare Proposal drawings / Models / Casting / Forging / Fabrication / Machining drawings In AutoDesk
Inventor/AutoCAD
• Perform basic pump engineering calculation which includes shaft deflection, bearing life, pressure
boundary evaluation of pump components structural integrity of base plates etc.
• Select suitable Motor (Drivers), Bearings, Mechanical seals for the Pump.
• Prepare a complete package with Pump + Motor + Piping + Base plates + Seal Systems in 3D/2D.
• Prepare Equipment data sheets and release drawings and Data sheets in Agile
• Prepare manufacturing drawings of necessary components
• Provide suitable GD & T/Tolerance stack up
Project 2 : Piping for Lube oil, Seal/Coollant, Drain for DVSH/WIK Multisatge pumps
• Requirement study using layout drawings and P & ID diagrams
• Creating piping layout connecting various piping components valves, vessels, pumps, filters, strainers,
gauges, flow indicators, compressed air systems, fans, heat-exchangers etc.conforming ANSI & API 610 ,
684 piping stndards
• Select appropriate schedules of Pipes/Tubes & fittings considering design condition
• Select appropriate piping/fitting material based on system conditions
• Create Piping 3D model on Lube oil, Drain, Coolant and sealing system.
• Provide fabrication and welding process procedures/drawings
• Provide GA of complete piping system & detail drawings of each piping spools/routing
• Prepare Bill of materials of entire pump package and associated piping and uploading in AGILE
• Check the type of sealing solution ac. to API 610 required and incorporate in the pump package.
Project 1 : Butterfly Valve Design:
• Calculate the different torques developed in the valve during operation and selecting the apt actuators and
gearbox.
• Design Butterfly/pump discharge Valves conforming to BS, IS or AWWA standards as stated by the
customer.
• Prepare GA drawings specifying the valve flange drilling standards and governing standards and material
of construction.
• Prepare complete Design calculation, Data sheets, and Characteristic curve showing the angle at which
the valve develops max. Torque and send it for approval.
• Prepare Manufacturing drawings using Pro-E /Auto-Cad and release the drawings for manufacturing.

Project 2 : Isolator/Damper Design :
• Study the project and estimate the time required to complete the project.
• Take up training sessions to project mates and fix the delivery dates of drawings.
• Preparing GA and sending it for approval(with approximate weight calculation)
• Prepare Part drawings of Dampers / Isolators in Pro-E / Auto-cad & release it to shop floor.
• Ensuring mistake proof drawings and optimum design, Modeling & Assembling the components (Isolator /
Damper) and check for interference if any.
• Designing platforms and ladders / staircase to access various points in the isolator and valve system after
installation onsite, for maintenance.
• Kaizen Certified for reducing cycle time of production of manufacturing drawings
