Key task is to provide leadership and direction to the purchasing team responsible for annual procurement
spend of 1.1Bln $ by setting challenging targets.
Ensuring continuous availability of all necessary raw materials, services, spares and consumables to ensure
reliable operations.
AMT operations consists of following annual capacities.
• 4.5 Million T crude steel capacity Integrated steel Mill comprising of Flats, Longs and value added
products like Galva, PPGI and Tin plates.
• 12 Million tons of Coal concentrate (8 underground gaseous mines)
• 5.5 Million ton of Iron ore concentrate ( 3 open cast and 1 underground mine)

• Key responsibility included developing procurement strategy, conducting negotiations and finalization of
long term strategic contracts for major project items and services, land agreements with local
2. communities, negotiations with transport unions, setting and monitoring individual and team
performance, networking with group companies, sharing best practices, management reporting, setting
savings targets and ensuring timely availability of materials and resources to sustain the operation /
growth plans.
• Deputed to Jubail, Saudi Arabia as Procurement and Contracts Head for setting up 600,000 TPY
seamless tube mill project in 2011.
Key Achievements:
Completed equipment and services procurement for setting up Greenfield project of 2MTPA Concentration
plant including mine development and vessel loading facilities in state of Sonora in Mexico. The project had a
total outlay of USD 156 Million.
• Major tasks accomplished included purchase or land, getting into agreement with Government of
Sonora and many individual and social groups for right to use existing public road for transport of
mineral, negotiation and finalization of a stable agreement involving principal contractor and local
transport unions for transportation of Pre-concentrate from mines, outsourcing Mines operation, port
and railway operations to ensure uninterrupted supply of concentrated iron ore for steel making.
• The project from land acquisition to commissioning and handover to operations was successfully
implemented in a period of 2.5 years as per initial schedule within the project cost.
In July 2007 Blast Furnace at Mexico plant suffered a sudden hearth failure. Received mandate from
ArcelorMittal CEO to organize all the material and services required to ensure restart of Blast Furnace within the
shortest timeline.
• More than 2500 MT of material was airlifted from different supplier locations worldwide and all
resources were job-sited as per the critical path rebuild requirement.
• The furnace was rebuild and restarted in record 75 days.
Completed contracting for main installation contract and all the construction material within a period of 6
months of deputation at Saudi Arabia to ensure timely completion of Jubail project.
Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) June 2004 to June 2006

JSL is a Group Company of O.P.Jindal Group and the largest manufacture of Stainless Steel in India.
Worked as procurement head reporting to Executive Director (Projects) responsible for purchases to set up
Greenfield project of 1.6 Mmtpa stainless steel plant in Jajpur, Orissa and capital expansion projects of JSL Cold
Rolling Division at Hissar.
• Key responsibilities included order finalization by negotiating best prices and terms with use of tools like
Fact Based negotiation, evaluation of input costs, generation of market, reverse auction etc.

of capacity from 2.75 Lakhs TPY to 4.5 Lakhs TPY

reporting to senior management, Preparation of project budgets and presentation to management,
resource planning, and coordination with different agencies to meet the project schedule. Fabrication,
