ACHIEVEMENTS February 2013 to October 2009
Retired as Executive Engineer, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT on 28.02.2013. Just
missed the post of Superintending Engineer which was pending with Government.
Supervised the preliminary work of Information Technology for the department. This is a
World Bank project in procuring the computers and other devices for the department. And
also the preparations of the ongoing Enterprising Management Information System
software for the department.
ACHIEVEMENTS September 2007 to October2009
Promoted from Assistant Executive Engineer to Executive Engineer and posted as
Executive Engineer/ Deputy Director of Staff training institute in Saidapet , Chennai.
Conducted various courses for our departmental staffs of the department. Given a tailor
made training for our newly recruited Engineers.
ACHIEVEMENTS September2003 to September2007
Worked as watershed manager for the World Bank Project in The Institute of Water Studies
Taramani, Chennai. Procured the various software computers and Printing devices for the
institute. Joined as Research Scholar (Part Time) in Madras University
ACHIEVEMENTS September2003 to February2001
Joined as AEE in Water Shed management Board/Division in Poondi, Thiruvalur district
near Chennai. Conducted sedimentation studies in Poondi reservoir, Gomuki reservoir.
Prepared the Sedimentation reports for the above reservoirs.

2. ACHIEVEMENTS August1999 to January2001
Promoted as ASSITANT EXECUTIVE ENGINEER. Deputed for higher studies in Anna
University. Joined in M.Tech, (Remote Sensing) and completed the course in Jan2001 with
First class.
ACHIEVEMENTS July1996 to July1999
Joined as Assistant Engineer in Stock Verification Department, Chennai. Checked all
Stocks in various Dam sites and sent inspection report and survey report to Government.
ACHIEVEMENTS September1994 to July1996
Joined as Assistant Engineer in Soil Mechanics and Research Division. Chennai.
Conducted various Soil parameter tests for both disturbed and undisturbed soil for
irrigation projects, Conducted Plate load test for bearing capacity of soil. These tests are
for the IPZ and SPZ soils for earthen dams.
ACHIEVEMENTS August1990 to August1994
Joined as Assistant Engineer in Gauging sub division, Mysore, Karnataka. Collected
various flow details of Karnataka reservoirs. This is a liaison office of Tamilnadu PWD for
Cauvery in Karnataka.
ACHIEVEMENTS June1988 to August1990
Joined as Assistant Engineer in Irrigation Design circle Chennai. Prepared design of
earthen dam, Spillway.

Joined as Assistant Engineer in Investigation office. Prepared irrigation Project Scheme
reports sent to Government.

3. AREA OF INTEREST
I am very much interested in designing and construction of low cost house.
I am also interested in Alternative building technology for the low cost house. As my
experience was in water sector I think I can analyze watersheds and find solutions that are
to be useful for farmers
EDUCATION
Studied in Setupathi High School in Madurai. From 1966 to 1971.
Studied Pre university education in Madura College, Madurai From 1971 to 1972.
Studied Bachelor of Engineering in CIVIL at Thiyagarajar College of Engineering,
Madurai Kamarajar university,Madurai. From 1972 to 1978.
Studied ALTERNATIVE BUIDING TECHNOLOGY in Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore.
Attended Earth block making technology course in Earth Unit at Auroville center,
Pondicherry.
Studied Master of Technology in Remote Sensing in ANNA UNIVERSITY in Chennai.
PhD in Madras university and my research area is in favorable water potential zones in a
Basin using GIS.
