• Reporting to the President. I successfully developed, recommended and implemented
purchasing policies, procedures and methods for all of Beatrice Canadian Operations across
Canada (34 plants) to provide and coordinated purchasing programs for all divisions and to
reduce purchasing costs of materials and equipments.
• Ensure that division and plant employees are responsible for purchasing within the respective
division or each individual plant understands and complies with approved purchasing policies,
procedures and methods.
• Negotiated prices and service agreements with suppliers, when applicable, on a company-
wide basis, to ensure Beatrice takes maximum advantage of volume purchasing, discounts
services and, in general, reduced purchasing costs.
• Secured, along with research, quality control and engineering assistance, when applicable:
sources of supply for new or improved material along with performance and other standards
for materials, parts, vehicles, and equipments.
• Overall procurement budget: $110,000,000 (excluding buildings and capital equipments).
• Successfully negotiated capital equipment and extra ordinary items, executed the sale of scrap
and surplus equipment plus other items, settled all lease agreements for vehicles, on a
company wide-basis, this resulted in reducing our overall cost over prior years by 8 – 10%.
• Successfully purchased all commodities on an annual basis (sugar, orange juice and natural
gas) this resulted in reducing our annual cost by 5% over prior years.
• Design and implemented for the yogurt line, new foil seal which resulted in efficiency of 20%
and saving of $200,000 plus.
