Automated systems management and additional connectivity solutions can reduce the number of administrators you need to run your datacenter or simply free up administrators to innovate rather than tying them up with routine management tasks. We found that the Dell OpenManage suite provides several new features for 13G Dell PowerEdge server solutions to streamline management tasks in both time and steps. Other new features let us easily connect to iDRAC right from the server. Updating firmware with Dell OpenManage features was also easier—eliminating 213 steps for updating a single server compared to updating manually.
The latest versions of the Dell OpenManage suite of system management tools and the power of iDRAC 8 contained within Dell 13G servers gives administrators increased flexibility and powerful new options for managing their data centers that translate to demonstrable savings in time and administrative effort. These automated enhancements and new technologies enable administrators to manage increasingly larger workloads while reducing the amount of hands-on work required for each system, bringing real value to systems management and datacenter operations.

This presentation is based on a real life experience migrating Oracle E-Business Suite production to AWS.
We will talk about:
- Certification basics. Overview on supported configurations.
- How to build. Recommendations based on migration and 2 year production runtime experience.
- Advanced configurations.
- R12.2.
- Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud review. Quick comparison outline of main alternative platforms. How ready is Oracle's own cloud service.
- Scaling.
This is a very client demanding topic. Many are looking into cloud migration options and how they can optimize the cost compared to the on-premise hosting, and many misunderstand the complexity of Oracle EBS stack being capable for cloud deployment.

3 Years of Puppet at Cisco: The Secrets to Our Success - PuppetConf 2013Puppet
"3 Years of Puppet at Cisco: The Secrets to Our Success" by Keith Chambers and Ryan Uber, Cisco WebEx.
Presentation Overview: WebEx Social (WxS) is an enterprise social networking product by Cisco. Customers can subscribe to WxS as a cloud service or they can purchase a license and run WxS on-premise. Puppet is at the core of our technology stack that includes MongoDB, Solr, RabbitMQ, memcached, ZooKeeper, Nagios, and Graphite. We love Puppet. We pioneered embedding Puppet in Cisco products 3 years ago and have been tireless advocates ever since. We have learned valuable technology/process/culture lessons and developed reusable patterns for: - Scaling to thousands hosts with Puppet - Ensuring host upgrades are 100% reliable - Avoiding Puppet codebase spaghetti - Detecting and eliminating system drift at scale - Creating a culture of shared responsibility through architecture design.

The 2013 EPA Draft SO2 NAAQS Designations Modeling Technical Assistance Document states that an accurate characterization of the modeled facility is critical. The document also says that that if the building information is not accurate, downwash will not be accurately accounted for in AERMOD. This presentation will discuss two generic facilities, one with a 31 m high long narrow solid building and a single stack that is 1.5 times the building height. The second facility has two 50 m high porous structures located near a single stack of the same height. Accurate building information was assembled for these two facilities and input into BPIP. The BPIP AERMOD input file was analyzed and the following problems were found: 1) building widths and/or lengths outside the range of AERMOD theory; and 2) the porous structures were assumed to be solid. In spite of inputting accurate site information, BPIP generated building dimensions for AERMOD input will not result in accurate predictions. Consequently, an EPA “Source Characterization” study was conducted where “Equivalent Building Dimensions” were defined that more accurately model the dispersion for these two sites. AERMOD was then run using the original BPIP determined inputs and the refined inputs based on a more accurate “Source Characterization.” With refined BPIP inputs, the maximum 1-hr concentrations decreased by factors of 2 to 3.5 Due to the stringent nature of the 1-hr NAAQS, clearly a more accurate source characterization study should be high on the list of refined modeling options.
Put the “fun” back in FUNdraising with gamification. Participants will learn ways to develop and execute a gamified fundraising plan to improve the effectiveness of fundraising efforts.

• Replaced failed four UPS battery units for Dell EMCs supporting off-site classified network backups.
• Created and modified computer and user logon scripts and pushed via Active Directory GPOs
• Created VLAN in DHCP for APC UPS management and 85 DHCP Scopes for Cisco VoIP phones
• Trained personnel how to setup dell server and install, patch and configure Microsoft Server 2008.
• T/S SMS errors during OSD push, systems not utilizing DHCP had failed, implemented DHCP on
domain controller and pushed script via SMS to convert systems to DHCP across classified network.
• Planned and ran data storage migration for 3.7TB of data on 3 networks--zero data lost and downtime
• Fixed TFTP issues for VLANs on 3 networks--not in the CORE switch and mis-configured in DHCP
• Plannedimplemented transfer of critical services; to include Directory Access and Email to new TCF
• Coordinated drawdown of 2 Iraq sites--seamless removal of services--no impact on remaining network
