Served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 and a-half years, attaining the rank of
master sergeant where I performed duties as supervisor, manager and
editor in the areas of organizational communications, human resources,
journalism and public relations.
Superintendent (1995-2000) Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
Served as the senior enlisted manager and advisor on the headquarters
staff: responsible for the human resource needs of more than 80 officers,
enlisted and civilians. Duties included managing assignments, training,
supervision, monitoring compliance with Air Force and functional
standards, mentoring, counseling, and advising senior leaders throughout
the Air Force.
Supervised and managed a staff of eight communication specialists serving
the Peterson Air Force Base community; five joint military specialists
aboard a Navy command and control ship on a training mission in the
Atlantic; and six specialists during competition and training in California.
Supervisor/Office Manager (1980-1995)
Supervised and managed military and civilian employees in offices located
at four different bases (Incirlik Air Base, Turkey; Patrick Air Force Base,
Fla., U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. and Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.). The
Incirlik and Eglin missions directly impacted the safety and security of the
nation. The Patrick mission involved nuclear treaty monitoring and the
Academy mission directly involved training future Air Force leaders.
During that same period performed duties as editor, writer and designer for
military newspapers and other printed products; coordinated events with
civilian print and electronic media such as LIFE Magazine, USA Today,
major network news agencies (such as CBS, ABC and NBC); and
coordinated/sponsored numerous community events with local and national
agencies in addition to creating and managing the largest speakers bureau
in the Air Force.

Prepare correspondence; handle electronic communication devices i.e., phones,
computers, fax machines, word processing equipment and copy machines;
manage filing systems; process forms and publications; prepare decorations and
