The company is operating Duty Free Shops in Major Internaional
Airports and Sea Ports ofIndia . Flemingo Group has strong presence
in Dubai and many African countries and has recently taken over
Duty Free business ofPoland. Flemingo Duty Free Shop Pvt Ltd buys
Liquors, Tobacco, Confectionery, Electronic Products from worlds
major brands like Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Beam Global, Nestle,
Master food, Lindt, Sony, Samsung etc directly
a) Overall responsible for Imports for locations specially
Chennai Hub, Monitoring of Sea and Air shipments for
various categories like Liquors, Tobacco, Electronics,
Confectioneries etc without incurring demurrage and
detention. Achieved record % target given by the company
reducing overall Logistics cost .
b) Communicating with Suppliers on day today basis to resolve key
logistics issues with independent and quick decision making skills.
c) Handling all Logistics and Customs related matters/issues

2. pertaining to locations and providing workable solution.
d) Responsible for maintaining optimum inventory level for
products imported and stored in warehouses/shops of locations.
e) Overall responsible for Bond life and Shelf life of the goods
imported at the hub along with timely distribution of the same to
locations across India.
f) Involved in planning and distribution of goods from Hub to
locations against indent received on monthly basis.
g) Co -ordinating with hub and locations for sending transfer
invoices( Inter location transfers ) sending space certificates,
organizing bank guarantees on time, issue of RWC’s ,required for
timely delivery of material at right time and right place.
h) Key involvement in starting new business category of
Electronics( Sony India ).Further, the extant business has been
extended to our JV partners DFS India , Mumbai. I have been
given a responsible task to execute the MOU and all
developmental work related to this new venture which has
successfully taken off from 1st Aug 10. Also, in verge of
finalizing MOU with Samsung, Daikin and various other
Electronic suppliers from Abroad.
i) MIS reporting to Management on the bond expiry issues on
monthly basis to ensure liquidation of stocks within validity of bond
period for all locations.
k) Processing of insurance claims arising out of import shipments or
accidents of vehicles where goods are subject to duty payment.
Spares Support Solution of India Ltd : I was also handling
Logistics function of the sister concern which is into Import Of
Spares for Civil aircrafts ( Only Airbus ). SSSIPL is a consortium of
Airbus France &Air Logic Turkey. I had single handedly obtained
the Customs bonded warehouse licence for the company which is
first of its kind in India. A special standing order related to the
operations of the bonded warehouse licence was designed and
submitted by self to Central Board of Excise and Customs which
was well acknowledged. The Standing order again will be first of its
kind in India and was signed by the Customs Board in 2011.
EXPORTS :
In the past 2 years or so, I have handled more than 300 Export /Re –
export shipments without any hassle. Brief about the profile :
a) Responsible for overall Exports specially from Chennai.
b) Co ordinating with Buyers for Purchase orders, co ordinating
with Logistics team and CHA for timely execution of shipments on
day to day basis whenever shipment takes place.
c) Dealing with freight forwarders/ Shipping companies for
placement of containers directly from HO to port of loading for the
goods like Liquors which are under DGR (Dangerous goods
regulation ) category and it requires special skills/relationship with
liners to convince them to accept the cargo without giving any

3. DGR declarations , MSDS certificates etc.
d) Independently handling letter of Credit negotiations with buyers.
e) Smooth execution of all export shipments as all our forex
earnings are based on timely delivery of consignment to respective
buyers..
PURCHASE:
a) Overall responsible for placing purchase orders to the suppliers
as per instructions given by the Management.
b) Authorised to sign the Purchase orders irrespective of the value.
c) Item ID creation and signing the same as and when required
whenever new purchases are made.
d) Co ordinating with suppliers to maintain the lead time and with
HO/Chennai purchase team for advance PO generation/item ID
creation in the system which helps minimize problems like “value
range “etc.
e) Overall inventory control for all locations specially Chennai for
A/B/C class of items be it Liquors/Tobacco/Confectionery etc.
f) Also looking after HSS imports specially of Electronics( Sony
India ) independently and authorized to sign the HSS documents
too.
g) Dealing/negotiating with suppliers on freight/insurance costs
even for pre booked CIF shipments . Have successfully reduced the
freight cost by almost 40% and insurance cost by almost 10 times
less than the amount actually charged by the supplier. Negotiations
are on with other suppliers too for the same.
h) Co ordinating with Purchase/Logistics/finance team and CHA
/Location Managers for timely receipt of documents and clearance
of the consignment.
i) Directly reporting to Management on day today basis on
developments /problems related to purchase etc.
