2400 Boston St. Baltimore, MD 21224
Software Engineer, Data Warehouse Team
 Develop robust, fully automated Java and Hadoop processes designed to run
scheduled aggregations and other transformations of large datasets, then table or
email the results and send alerts in the event of failures.
 Perform application testing and monitoring using AWS and Cloudwatch.
 Create application monitors and alerts, including publishing and retrieving JMX
metrics.
 Design and implement automated testing procedures using pigUnit and JUnit to
ensure functionality and robustness of code for ETL jobs and RESTful web
service APIs.
 Develop and conduct performance tests on a variety of applications and
technologies, for efficiency and resource allocation purposes.
 Secured major business contracts by designing ETL procedures for large clients,
using SyncSort/dmexpress, Pentaho, and Pig to perform financial calculations,
user attribution, and reach reporting.
 Manage multiple Hadoop clusters, addressing speed/efficiency goals, and
production support, resulting in significant downtime reduction.
 Address ad-hoc and project data requests by developing complex database
queries and scripts using SQL, pig, hive, bash and/or Perl to generate detailed
reports and calculate data discrepancies.
 Design and implement Perl scripts using complex regular expressions to
efficiently parse data logs to find and report errors, key data points, or quarantine
improperly formatted data logs.
 Enhance and extend the data access layer of existing web applications to support
growing business needs, such as handling language translation and currency
conversion in self-service applications.
 Engage in Agile software development methodologies, including daily scrums
and sprint planning.
 Conduct code walkthroughs and review peer code and documentation.
 Present new processes to coworkers, providing an overview and teaching best
practices.

Internship-Programmer and Usability Analyst
 Assessed usability issues and performed system testing on a state-of-the-art
fingerprint analysis workstation currently used by the FBI and other law enforcement
professionals. Discovered over 100 defects and usability issues over a 3-week period.
 Engaged in Agile software development methodologies, including daily scrums and
sprint planning using VersionOne, a project management application.
 Using Wink, created a tutorial video for the fingerprint analysis workstation for new
users. Demonstrated over 10 different workflows, thereby improving the application’s
usability.
 Using the Google Web Toolkit (GWT), provided the proof of concept for quicker and
more flexible access to fingerprint analysis technology by programming a web-based
prototype of the current workstation in the last month of the internship.
 Using GWT (coding in Java and modifying JS/HTML files), provided law-
enforcement with the proof of concept for quicker and more flexible access to
fingerprint analysis technology by programming a web-based prototype of the current
workstation in the last month of the internship.
 Presented the prototype and other findings to senior management via PowerPoint
presentation.
 Began the development of the actual (non-prototype) fingerprint analysis website.
