This panel discussion focuses on how blogs are changing the nature of academic discourse. This is not a workshop on "how to blog" but an examination of the value and impact (positive or negative) of academic blogs within specific disciplines. We hope our discussion will be of interest to faculty who do not read blogs but may be curious as to what academics are doing in the so-called "blogosphere."

The document proposes turning an abandoned industrial area into a green space for the Lafitte Corridor neighborhood. It suggests building basketball courts, a skate park, pool, playground, dog park, performance stage, bike path, and other amenities. Safety measures like fences, cameras, police presence, and traffic signs would also be implemented. The goal is to provide activities for children, remove blight, attract tourists, businesses, and development to the area.

They advocate for and help create a greenway that promotes active living, economic growth, and connects neighborhoods, culture, history, shopping, and public spaces.
This is a presentation from the University of New Orleans Master of Urban and Regional Planning Capstone studio course for the Spring 2010 semester made for Broad Community Connections. Graduate candidates Cole Judge, Nicole McCall, Sharonda McClellan, Laura Phillips and Kristina Tallo examined ways to enhance pedestrian and bicycle access along the Broad Street corridor and the intersecting Lafitte Greenway.

While social bookmarking provides advantages like collaboration and emergent vocabularies, it also presents disadvantages like informal tagging systems and potential for spam.
